Lone Pine Fans....

I am looking for some history on a dog named Strang's Lone Pine Ellie.

She was a Gran Night dog that was bred at least one time to Kansas Dancer...

Any history that you can give me on this dog would be appreciated...

Also if you look in the past issue or American Cooner they have an interview with Tom and he talks about her in there. Tom is a super nice man.

elvis,

I owe you a nickel....

Nicest man on earth, and oh what a lesson I got.

If you look on the back cover of the latest walker yearbook, look at the stone carving in the background. The dog in that carving is Lone Pine Ellie....

Dave,

I learned way more than what I asked about...that much is for sure. Mr. Strange is a walking encyclopedia concerning the history of Walker dogs....I would venture to say that he has fogotten more (and he has not forgotten much) about walker dogs of the past than most of us know combined.

Sounds like Ellie was one of his all time favorite Lone Pine dogs. She is immortilized in stone in front of his home.....

I bred a female that goes back to Eileen on the bottom side, and I am getting one of those pups....I could not find any history on Eileen other than her PAD and the history on one litter of pups. He filled me in on her hunting style, her mother's hunting style, her daddy's hunting style, her grandmother and grandfathers hunting style...about six generations worth of her ancestors, and about three generations of her offspring!

I didn't take notes, but I can assure you of this....I will wish that I had!

Joe, wouldn't it be something if we could get all this stuff these "old masters" of the breed could get all of it down on paper.
Maybe this could be a project the breed association could look into. Interviews and compilations from some of these fellows. I am sure it would be enough to fill a whole set of encyclopedias.
I for one would read it cover to cover.
