I've said it before and I'll say it again. Country is the best hound on the planet.

There’s a Walker that I think deserves to be in that conversation as well. Shack has had quite a year.

Shack is awesome. He's backed by good folks. I'll stand by my statement.

I hear ya! I’m not saying he isn’t. I’ve definitely not ever had the privilege of hunting with either of them. I just know it seems like any big event we’ve had lately has seen those 2 names consistently going deep.

I have hunted with both and I'd like to have either of them.

Josh

I can guarantee that there would be a long list of hunters that would love to have either Shack or Big Country, put me at the top of the list. Dave

Well guys first off thank you sooooo much for all the kind words and the confidence,We didn't go all the way we needed a break in the top 6 and just didn't get and marv did.The little marv dog did a awesome job and he deserved to win( I just wish everyone on the cast had huge heads lol)We had a great run this year =,3rd in the chkc world,8th in the ukc world and top 6 of the pkc world all in one year incredible I will probably not live long enough to do something like that again not to mention him winning over 50k and becoming the all time winning blue dog.So again thanks for all the support and I hope to see all you guys at the 2020 ukc world.John Strickland

I watched the live feed of the heads up cast between Country and Marv and it looked like a blast. Either was capable of winning no doubt. When that judge laid on his back and shoved his head up in the hole and with a muffle "i see him!" I'm sure "team Country" was disappointed but not surprised. Another thing, that live feed ran well over 1000 at one point and I'm certain it was because of Big Country. Not to take anything away from any well deserving dog of black and white or tri-color, but it's obvious coonhunters get excited when an "off color" dog does some big winning.

I hope you continue to push Country until he tells you to let up!

You and Big Country have had a great year, no doubt about it. You 2 make a great pair, you have accomplished more in the past year than most do in a lifetime. I wish you all the best in the coming years, no doubt you 2 will be back in the Winners Circle. Dave

Congrats again

John, Ashley & especially, Big Country. Guys behind the steering wheels have put on a lot of miles getting this hound to hunts, but just think of all the miles & work (hills, hollers, brush) this dog has had to go thru to accomplish what he has for the Bluetick breed, against all other competitors.

May not have won 1st @ any of the World hunts, BUT still can't wait to get Jo-ann bred this winter to him. Just like CUB can't wait for his Warrior (brother to Shack) pup to get big enough to start training it. Take care, Ron.

That blue dog

Something tells me that not only is Big Country the real deal, but that he is just getting warmed up. Look out in 2020, you will see more out if this dog and the man behind him. Dave

I dug around some old threads to find a pedigree on the Big Country dog as I've been out of the picture awhile. No accident this dog is what he is! The stars in his past seem to have aligned well!

Anyone got any video clips or links to videos showing this hound in action? I'd love to see some!

If you are into social media you can check out all kinds of pictures and videos by joining the facebook group Big Country Blueticks. It has become such a chore to post videos on these message boards that I don't even bother anymore.

Thanks for the info. I'm to much of a curmudgeon to join FB. They want to much info. about their users and once you give it to them you have no control over what's done with it from what little I understand.

John, hope you'll plan to mark the Tournament of Champions on Blue's schedule. Congrats on another outstanding showing at the PKC World Hunt.

Just google “big country blueticks Facebook”, and it should be this first link to pop up. You can look at all the content without having a Facebook account.

Go to the Big Country Blueticks Facebook page, you don’t have to be a Facebook member, and it is on there. You may need to scroll down a little bit once you are on their page. It was also on the Backwoods Heritage Facebook page.

Thank you Nick B.! Gotta love that locate bark! From what I read sounds like this dog could be one of those once in a lifetime hounds. Sounds like he may be reproducing well also. I can acknowledge a good coon hound in any breed but I've always had a soft spot for the blue dogs.

I share your opinion on loving BC mouth, I played the video several times and it just sounded better every time. I need to go up and hunt with him and John. Dave
