I'm the Vice President of the dekalb county coon hunters. I guided dean millers black hawk on Saturday of the zones and we hunted 10 minutes from the fairgrounds and scored on 10 singles. No lack of coons here

If I'm not mistaken I think Dick Brothers dog scored 1550+ at walker days this past spring there.

Or just have a dog that trees coon and it don't matter if leaves are on or off. You have to tree coon to win. Dogs may not go out as fast as they would with the leaves off. But a dog that trees coon are going to tree them with the leaves on or off. Hunt the purina Nat'l if you want to hunt with the leaves off.

Sounds good to me, rather have leaves off too , then it wouldn't keep slick treeing idiots in it with circle . I am happy with it no matter where ...it's still the world hunt ...

If you make it to the top 100 and come to Montpelier for the finals you will not have to worry about not seeing coons. This tri state area has as many coons as anywhere in the country. We have held every hunt possible at our club and there is a reason they keep coming back

As a proud member of the dekalb county coon club, and an area farmer, we should be started chopping our corn by then, the hunting will be great, can't wait to guide some of the top dogs and put 1000+ points on scorecards!!

Scored on 5 singles out there at Walker Days last year in 18 minutes... The leaves were off and the fields/woods were flooded like lakes. There's coon there and the dog that trees the most in two hours will win and that's the way it should be!

Not trying to be an @$$, I just want to know:

How many of you guys have been to the finals who are complaining about hunting with no leaves, and do you really think that the final 100 are slick treeing idiots? And how many hunts have you been to with the leaves off and beat some dogs that consistanly make the final 100?

Oh I'm not afraid to cut em anytime. I get it; I just have a hard time believing the ones who made it to the final 100 spend much time slick treeing, like a few have implied. And I was taking the long way around to make a point that never will everyone be happy when and where.
