Got a young dog that wants to hunt with his head in the air and is coming up short. Not finishing out the track. Any suggestions?

Thanks to everyone who has breed to Crocket or is hunting one of his offspring

Jeff l have one here out of my Hook male and 57 Maggie that is a winding son of a gun also. Has treed a number of coon by himself and loves to split tree when he can. He is now 13 months old and is finally starting to put his nose down to track some. He opens when he winds and will work the air currents. I too feel if this kind of pup can put it together they have a good chance of being special.

Thanks for all the input. Is there anyway to help in courage him to put his nose to the track and take it on?

Jeff l run him in the thickest cutover l can stand. Has made him keep his head down some. He can tree those coons also.

Switch him and send him hes slick...
Let him keep winding and keep correcting when hes wrong praise when right. Focus on what hes naturally trying to do
