Dog allergy question

My dog was shaking his head real bad so took him to the vet. Said he had an infection. Ran 2 different infection meds through him and he’s still shaking his head. Took him back and they’re saying now it’s allergies and give him Benadryl. What’s the best allergy medicine I can give to my dog or any other suggestions? Thanks

A dog with ear issues is a headache mostly because we don't take care of them for long enough. Try this before you go down the allergy road, which will never end trust me. Get a bottle of witch hazel it's cheep but works. Fill the dogs ears up with it then rub under the ear just behind the jaw line for no less that 30 seconds. The key is rubbing it that long so it can get down into the ear, it will brake down the extra wax which in most cases causes the ear issues and allow the wax to work its way out as it sakes its head. You have to do this at least once a day for 3 to 4 weeks. You will notice a big difference in just a week DO NOT STOP. You may have to take a baby wipe and clean the extra wax chunks out of the ear so they don't go back in. Once you know they are good and clean and the dog don't dig at them or head shake for a few weeks then you can back off. Try every other day if your still good once a week and so on. Some dogs just need more maintenance than others. I have one that has to be done every day, one the gets done once a week and the rest just once a month just to clean out dirt. FYI if this does help and you get the dog fixed up make a habit of checking there ears every day when you feed. It seems like it just takes a few days to go south when they do and your starting over again. Hope this helps.

I use mEARicle solution. Fill both ears up and rub under the ear like stated above. Will be cleared up and head shaking will stop in a few days. The stuff works. I’ve had 2 dogs so far with that problem and it has healed both dogs. They don’t like it, I assume it burns a little because they shake their head and rub their head on the ground after you do it but it sure does the trick. I only had to do both of my dogs about every 3 days for a week or two and it has healed them completely. Neither dogs have any head shaking anymore.

Search my posts I have posted a home remedy that is dirt cheap works great and all supplies are at Walmart or local drug store. This will get there ears in good shape. If it is allergies try switching to a food without corn wheat or soy. Stay away from grain free food. Lots of food out there that are corn wheat and soy free.
