We have tried to keep it simple here at Boss Lights, as we know trying to figure out what light to buy can get confusing. On top of that it seems that every other week something is being changed or added to the light you just purchased and it’s name is changed. We have been selling the Hotspot for 5 years with only minor changes. The changes we did make were incorporated into the light and we didn’t change the name and claim to have next best thing. The reason is simple. The Boss Hotspot was built right the first time and it has what a coon hunter needs to find a coon with and safely get around the woods. Since we first built the Hotspot we have listened very close to what customers have said and what improvements they would like to see.

We feel the Boss Hotspot Elite competes with any light being sold when it comes to what the Coon Hunter needs. That is Reliability, Brightness, Burn Time, Comfort and Affordability.

The first change is the Switch has been moved to the head. We have a lot of people up north that wear hoodies and it makes it so much easier for them to get to their switch. The switch has 4 forward positions for the main beam. Then two positions for the walk light and two positions for the colored LED. As in the past you can have the colored LED in Red or Green. The second change is the brightness of the Walk Light. You can easily shine trees with the Walk Light if you want to. It is BRIGHT. The Battery box is also smaller than our past lights. 3.4 x 2.25 x 1.5 inches. While many light builders are going to smaller battery boxes with less batteries, that is something we would not do. We have 3 top of the line batteries on the box which gives you 4 hours of burn time on high and our light will then start to dim down and still last 2 more hours. On the main beam our favorite is the DeDomed LED. It gives you a warm white color that makes it a lot easier to find the coon against the bark of the tree and it penetrates and doesn’t wash out when shining off in the distance. With the Walk Light being writer and a cool white, you have the best of both worlds in one light. Also don’t want to forget the LAZER that the Boss Lights have built into them. There is one simple toggle switch to turn it on and off with.

Walk Light

Has anyone made a video of the walk light in use yet? Looks like some nice improvements. Really like the switch on the head.

Does it come on a belt light as well?

Sorry this light does not come in a belt light package yet. Once the switch is moved to the head that means the with wire had to be in the wire running to the head. They are doing all the can to keep up with the cap light model but should have some soon. Thanks for asking.

The Boss Hotspot Elite is now available in a Box Light Package for those that want less weight on their heads. I will take some pictures later.

Here are some pictures of the box light package. The box is 2 3/4 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall. Fits in most pockets or bib overalls. It also has bracket on the back to slide a belt through or works on vest.



We drill holes in the summer soft cap which has a mesh back to make it cooler.

For those of you not familiar with all the different lights out there and get confused with all the advertising claiming to be the Brightest, Lightest, and best value. I would like to share a few facts.
We here at Boss Lights are very PROUD of the lights we build and how the design of our lights have migrated over into about every light being sold here in American and also imported from China.

Would like to say there are several top quality light builders out there. Since the LED lights have came upon the scene there have been several improvements over the first models and as the LED Technology improves there will me more changes in the future. Everyone seems we want the Brightness Light and that that is the Marketing most of the builders push. Well Brightness after a certain point or brightness at close distances that blowout and hinder vision at a distance is something most don't mention. Having a light that will light up everything around you but the beam won't hold together to shine across a dirt road is not the light we build.
When your deciding on your next light, let me share some things that Boss Lights brought to the Coon Hunting Public first.
We were the first Light Company to migrate away from the standard bump cap and start using the Ridgeline Bump Cap for all our cap lights. Yes there were some companies that had used the Ridgeline on a light or two. Boss Lights was the first to go exclusively with the Ridgeline and other Light Builder must of thought that was a good idea. As they soon followed.
We were the first Light Company to put Colored LED's on the Head along with the White LED. Other Light Companies publicly laughed at the idea. They quite laughing and soon followed Boss Lights lead.
We were the first light Company to combine using the Red and Green LED at the same time in our Cat's Eye Head in the past to give you an Amber Color without the need for an individual amber LED. That is being now being reintroduced that design being followed.
There are a lot of Claims of Long Burn Time. We know what Batteries are in the (other guys) lights. We will put the quality and burn time of our batteries up against the batteries being sold and marketed in other lights.
We were the first and still the only Company to offer a Laser on the Head. The others haven't followed there yet.
I have no problem with anyone following our lead. Why you ask? Because in the long run ti puts a better quality product in the Coon Hunters hands. That is what it is about to me. You guys having better products. Even if the Light you wear don't say Boss on it. It is probably safe to say that Boss Lights influenced what your wearing. Kevin Rainwater in SE KY does a good job building these lights. It has also been refreshing working with someone like Kevin that puts the customer first and to share the thoughts on lights over the years with Kevin and his Son Brad. Many days of Brain Storming and working on a new idea or a problem with an old idea has been spent to bring you a quality light. Also proud that Customer Service has always been and will continue to be top notch at Boss Lights.
