JiM it isn't like the good old days. LOL Ivermectin was one of the hottest topics for a while and had as many arguments over it as any on the board. Then the Black and Tan HARDROCK started winning all the money and boy was the there plenty of meat and potatoes in the pot to stir over that. I still get calls from people telling me he wasn't a black and tan and he sure didn't reproduce like I said he would. The only regrets I have about Hard Rock as I used him to keep John Davis from MO. pretty fired up. Thing is John is a good guy and didn't deserve all the grief.

Nathen we can all learn from each other. I like most old guys learned from old guys lol. I learned through repetition what worked and what didn't. Buuuuut hey you should have seen this old guy letting a 17 yrs old show him how to use a garmin lol. Five years ago I could not type I still as you can tell have not mastered it at all. Most younger folks have more education in 5 yrs than I ever got in my life. in my time there was no time for school you had to work to eat. 5 cents for a soda but that 5 cents was hard to get. But now I can have one anytime I want ain't it the life lol.
Tar
Yeah, "the good old days".... Every Saturday afternoon we got to watch a movie and get a small 8 oz coke in a glass bottle. That was it for the week.
And they wonder why we exploded in the 60's when we turned 16 and got a driver's license. Yeah, "the good old days"....
I guess that I am one of those 3 guys.
Me too lol. Me and the wife go to Oklahoma City they have a soda pop store there we get the old fashioned mint juelip. Used to get to go to the movie on Saturday nights that was my pay grandpa would give me $2.50 it would be a double feature got a hot dog and a coke at the first one and a popcorn and a coke at the second one and thought we was in high cotton lol.
Tar
$2.50 to go to a movie. I didn't even know what folding money was till I went in the army.

Now my feelers are hurt lol.

True story, I knew some people that grew up in the mountains of southwest Virginia that were very poor. They told me about another family that actually lived under a big overhanging rock, that they enclosed with what they could find. Now, this was before welfare and you ate what you buy or catch. My friend said they would trap skunks etc for their skins and this family that lived under the Rock would skin the skunks for them just to keep and eat the meat. Dave

Furbuyer i used to sell to would skin skunks, cut the meat up and put it in pint jars and sit them up in his furhouse to use next season for fox lure. The smell would gag a maggot but he sure caught a lot of foxes. Skunk meat is one of the whitest meats you will ever find and just about anything in the woods that eats meat will eat a dead skunk.
Yadkinriver
My story just shows one that no matter how poor someone is, there are those that are poorer. What would happen today if the government stopped the welfare system? In those days you ate only if you could buy or catch your food. Dave

Mr Dave, are you saying that if the Government ended the food stamp program, people would start eating skunks?
Dave if the government stopped the welfare system we would have to carry a sidearm everywhere we went. However you might see more people willing to chop cotton and prime tobacco. Might even see less tattoos and smokers as they seem to be popular with recipeints.

Richard I'd eat one before I became a member of the Donner party. Might even take a bite of possum but your ole green long whiskered catfish would be safe.
