I need info, please...

I have a beagle pup.. the people I got her from, have papers/form from American Canine Association, Inc. I haven't sent the papers in yet. I would like to have her to be under UKC; am I able to do that?? If so, how? Do I just send in the paperwork I have through ACA, then wait for the informaition and other paperwork to come back, then send it off to UKC? Or just get in contact with UKC first about it? And let them know that she has paperwork from ACA???
I'm new to all of this. Please help me!!
