Looking for a hound for a young hunter to start

Looking for a hound for a young hunter to start hunting. Prefer something that's at least started but would even take a pup for him to raise up and start. Free would be very much appreciated but might have some stuff to trade on. Please just be honest about the hound because the boy recently traded about 800 worth of guns for a hound that was supposed to do it all and the thing will barely hunt.
