Thanks guys....

went to those two websites posted and didn't see anything. Out looking again today, there just isn't anything there.

Borrowing a computer right now to check the classifieds, headed home soon and will run by and check the area real quick again. Keep hoping to go out to feed and her be there ready to eat.

Suzanne! Sorry to hear about your troubles. Try looking into where ever they have a 'puppy mill' type sale in your area. Dog traders make 'good deals' on dogs that are 'picked up'. After learning about these sales in Ohio, I've done a bit of research, it ain't good. Good luck, let me know if there's anything I can do up here.

First thing I'm going to do is take a couple dozen pictures from every angle!

Don't EVER want to be missing a dog with no pictures again.

GLAD TO HERE YOU FOUND YOUR DOG WAS LOOKING IN IN KIGSPORT TN SOUNDS LIKE SHE HAD SOME HELP GETTING OVER THERE

Posted by anscox on 05-23-2008 04:22 AM:

Got her home safe and sound!

Yeah, don't think she managed to get all the way over there by herself. Would have to have crossed three mountains a couple dozen roads, two or more subdivisions without getting picked up, and everything from major highways, train tracks, bridges and ravens.

Regardless, she's home now with nothing more to show for her wild week other than a minor neck injury and the serious stench of something dead!

The lady who called this morning said she has not seen her before today. Went to town, came home and there she was on the porch. You could tell she doesn't know anything about hounds, but was so very nice. Offered her food and water before calling us, amazingly the dog didn't eat. She's a HUGE food hog, I don't think she would have turned down food if left on her own for five days. The lady chained her up for us until we could get by to pick her up. Very nice couple, before Jodi left she had two new two legged friends and two four-legged, a pomeranian and a doberman. LOL.

SO relieved to have this over with... I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post on here what the gal looks like.

well good deal. was the tracking collar still on the dog? if so what caused it to stop working? sounds like someone got scared and dropped her out.

Posted by anscox on 05-23-2008 05:06 PM:

Yeah, amazingly the collar was on the dog. It was still giving off a faint signal, though not a very strong one so it wasn't dead. He sure couldn't get a thing off of it the night she went missing though. Him and a friend picked up a faint signal up the road two days later, but couldn't keep it long enough to track it.

You would think someone who had picked up the dog would have kept the collar... but surely she didn't go that far on her own?

I just don't know, guess we never will. Her neck is skinned up some, but no serious injuries. Guess we're just blessed to have her home, thankful for that.

Glad ya got her back Suzzanne! I meant to ask you about it last night but things were pretty hectic and yall left right after the show. Depending on where she was in Overton Co, its not that far for a dog to go from where you turned her loose. A dog could potentially go from the valley there between Monterey and Livingston and be in putnam co when you cut it loose, cross overton co and be in FENTRESS COUNTY in a night's time EASY!
