Official AO Grand 16 Final Four - Play By Play

Come one, come all! Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, internet coonhunters of all ages! It is time, once again, for the rumble in Richmond, the 2018 UKC Autumn Oaks Final Four!

We've been waiting all year for this day, and lucky for us, Autumn Oaks is well upon us.

Tonight promises to be some of the best head-to head action we have seen all year, as the Grand 16 take to the timber and duke it out for the coveted positions in the Final Four cast.

We will be bringing you all of the action, in near perfect synchronization, straight from the woods and right to your finger tips.

If you are joining us from home, make sure you strap on your frog legs for the full effect!

Other than that, sit back, relax (but don't doze off), and we'll bring you all of the intricate details we can, straight from the 2018 Autumn Oaks!

Start Time - Deadline for all of the Grand 16 casts to be back to the grounds is 2:00AM EST, so, the coverage of the Final Four cast may or may not start at that exact time. There's a good chance that all four casts could be back in well before 2AM, so our coverage may start a little sooner than anticipated.

In other words, check back in a little bit before 2AM to see if we are getting ready to kick things off or not

From what I'm hearing at ground zero, 3 of the 4 casts have returned with plus point cast winners. One cast still remains out.

Keep watching

Just like that, the Final Four has been assembled and has left the building!

The cast is currently in route to their hunting destination for tonight's festivities with eager hunters and hounds. With a National Grand Nite Championship title on the line, who will walk away the Champion of Champions???

My sources tell me that the current conditions in Richmond, IN are hot and humid. Temperatures are steady in the lower 70's, and sufficient rainfall in the area over the past 24 hours has kept the place pretty moist.

These hounds aren't getting much of a break in between 1st and 2nd rounds tonight, so hopefully they are going somewhere that is equally saturated with wily ringtails.

Good luck to all of those competing tonight for the win!

Don't miss out on any of the action!

The dogs are collared and lined up at a make shift strating line...

Final Cast Judge Alan Kalah gives the cast some final instructions before grabbing his stopwatch to mark the time...

Ready...

Immediately, Feelin' Big is struck for 100!

Followed close behind by Bulletman for 75...

River chirps in for a third strike position... 50....

and Ike brings up the rear at 25...

Track is screaming hot!

All four dogs run the track from the wood line out into the bean field nearby a short distance, before cutting back left handed toward the woods...

Should be a quick job here!

The cast is hunting a 158 acre plot with agricultural fields on darn near every side of it. There is a good mixture of beans and corn here, with a river off in the distance.

Sounds like a recipe for lots of coon!

Final Cast Judge calls for the stationary rule to be applied to Northern Blue Ike. Time is running...

All other dogs are still opening in the nearby vicinity of Ike.

Feelin' Big and Dark Side of Skuna River are now past where Ike is hold up, they are moving the track away from his current position...

Bulletman has doubled back toward the bean field, trying to make heads or tails of the track...

Ike has moved on from where he got held up.

Ike and River are now doing the majority of the opening on this track....

Nobody has made it to the trails end as of yet.

What started out as a screaming hot track has jumbled up into some major tangled up knots for these dogs.

Big and River are trying to use teamwork to quickly locate the first coon of the cast, while Bulletman continues to work things out back in the beans.

Northern Blue Ike is living up to his name, heading due North away from the cast.

It's anybody's ball game with this raccoon for sure! What a nail biter....

Joining in with the stout blue dog, a couple of coyotes can be heard cackling across the road directly behind the cast!

Ike has obiviously moved on from his previous position now...

His handler must know him inside and out!

In such a high stakes cast like this one, it can be fairly common for handlers to make a mistake, feeling the pressure when judges have to apply certain rules to situations like this one...

But not Mike Silcox! Talk about a cool cat....

Dark Side Of Skuna River slides in past Ike and is declared treed by his handler, Duell Murphy for 125!

Bulletman, who has since moved his way out of the beans and back into the woods, slams down behind the Walker female for 75...
