Shooting game out

Am looking to get me a cur but had a question. Do curs need game shot out to them more so than a hound or can I treat them like a hound and say shoot a coon out every now and then? With prices I just dont want to shoot a bunch of coons out for nothing.

Ones ive seen your better off not shooting allot out. Jmo
