Michigan State land opens July 8th for hound training

The day state land opens for hound training every year is a day i always look forward to. Sure its a formality given that sanctioned events are going on year round, but still i cant help but get excited. i treat it like a holiday, i hunt all night then slam some coffee and head off to work as the sun is rising. good luck to all of you hitting the woods tonight and be sure to check out the YouTube channel Thrill Seeker Outdoors. don't forget to like and subscribe!

This is my first year celebrating this in Michigan. Not used to the "dead period" and with me having only one, one drop spot the past 2 months was rough. Ready to get my hounds and me back in shape.

It will be awfully hard to get your legs in shape coon hunting in Michigan but you can get your neck in shape looking up all of those trees. One drop in Michigan means that you can tree 3 coons and go home.

I sure miss all the private land I had permissiom to in TN but I am more than appreciative of the public land here in MI. Just puts me in a bind during the "quiet" season
