Brandon,

I could show you a "spittin image" of Rock....

Still shows him twice on a three generation pedigree....

Joe

Why don't they breed him. Have you breed you Jake dog latey. Mark

Posted by Oak Ridge on 03-16-2009 03:23 AM:

They don't breed him because he stands in "acres of Clover". He's at the wrong house...

I've had several people talk about it...nobody follows through.

I've been curious about the Force

Semen. When someone makes a cross on him let us know.

I've got Rock about 6 or 7 times way back in my dogs pedigree.
Three times through Radar who was my favorite stud dog of all time. I saw him reproduce some hounds that most folks would pay a truck load of money for today. He was the second stud dog I went to in my 10 generation crosses of my hounds. The best cross I ever saw. Had 5 pups left that I was saving to see which two I was going to keep at 5 months old to the day they ran and treed a real live racoon by themselves without help or an old dog.

Sorry I am a Spring Creek Rock homer.

I second that. Is that the seman that Alyssa has or had. I talked to her about it a few years ago. Mark

Lee, I think the year was 1982. I think I bred the last female to him before he died. It seems like he died about a month before the pups were born and they were born Feb. 20, 1982.

It has been a while and I haven't thought about it lately but I think I am correct on this.

I'm a little bias since i hunted pups off rock and rock's off spring for along time but i think he was one of the best if not the best for producing track driving stay put walker coonhounds bare none. This historical cross that was just made sorry but i would trade 10 of them for just 1 off old rock semen. Not a personal comment pointed at anyone or any dog like i said i'm bias and love the finely river spring creek breeding.

Hey Nutt (case) hahaha

how about an add on old Stinson's bobby... I think he was by radar and old Kate...Black jacks mom.
Donnie Huber hunted him and I think ran a couple of adds in the cooner. should have been around 1987 give a take a year or two either way before or after.

Billy Kept ole kate I think until she died of old age around 12 or so.
He had another dog called stinsons banjo. he was never advertised but was a coondog second to non.

I may be mistaken but didnt they just breed Insane Jane to Rock semen? pups are like a year old or less I believe, Steve calls his male Tycoon (INSANE ROCK-N-TYCOON).

anyone know how the rest of them are doing? does Steve own the only Rock semen left?

Here is a good bred Granson Of Rock. I owned a full brother to this dog he was two years younger though. Best dog I ever had or probably ever will have. First night in the woods at 7 months old treed a possum while two older dogs smoked a hot track all around him. Would split tree and tree layups. Never had a problem being trashy. Only treed two possums in his life after I started shootin coon out to him. There was another brother to this dog name Spring Creek Chief that was Dual Grand. My dog was named Spring Creek Drifter. I never hunted him in a hunt im really sad about it now. This Fred dog was good un too. I hunted with this dog from the time he was a year old until he died. He was one of the best Ive ever hunted with.

http://www.finleyriverchief.com/SPR..._FRED_SEMEN.php

Supposedly the best cross ever made off Spring Creek Rock was on a Table rock Flyin Hawk Female this info came from Duane Clark himself
