best stud going now

What do you guys feel is the best stud going right now?
I know will see a lot of oppinions but just wanna see what names come up often.
I believe Mojo will come up a lot as he is the hot thing and winning a lot.

Posted by Tyler Vaden on 03-01-2010 04:38 PM:

I would say Sunrise, Clint, Bark, and Homer. Traxx and his brother 7mile have some good pups on the ground will see.

Only one opinion on this one? That's surprising

Posted by Casey_Lee on 03-01-2010 09:54 PM:

I saw in the Prohound where Hellbilly was breeding a lot of females.

mark, I saw dreamer at sewd he is a good looking dog. Didnt get to talk to you was crowded.

Posted by Keith Hodge on 03-02-2010 04:03 AM:

This would depend on the female you are breeding. If you go purely off of stats it is handsdown Trackman

Posted by jdw2920 on 03-02-2010 04:14 AM:

What female is winning right now and is being breed to some good dogs? You always hear of males never females.

What would be a dream cross?

Mojo x ________________

Big d x ________________

Trackman x _________________

Hellbilly x ________________

or any other stud dog you wanna throw in there. What would be a dream cross name stud dog and female.

In contrast to popular belief no stud dog fits all.

A breeder should have goals beyond just selling pups. A stud should represent and reproduce those same traits that will help a breeder achieve their goals.

EXCATLY. There are so many SECOND GENERATION stud dogs out there, not even proven reproducers.
We have several good huntin male dogs around home that have thrown litters and most of the pups hunted made an average coondog.
Thats the treeing walker breed. most of the young stud dogs today haven't provenanything and by the time most do prove something they are getting out of the game the litters are getting older and you missed your chance so try to buy a dog with the breeding into it.

there is no fix all, I wonder if ya'll are not a bunch of phoneys fulled by full page glossy's. not matter if its trucks woman or dogs.

It would be an interesting figure just my opinion could be wrong on all of them.

i think the best question would be how many pups out of those females made coondogs. Dont get me wrong i like Trackman and wildcard and all the other BIG named dogs out there and i am not talking down on them but i think a ratio to how many pups actually made coondogs to how many females they bred would show that there are better reproducers out there.
My personal favorite at this time is Boley Creek Stylish Buck and thats because he is putting my favorite traits back into coondogs and i havent found a pup out of him yet that isnt accurately treeing coons.

The dominant "great " stud is a freak just like the "freak" coonhound. Sacket Jr. / Rat Attack would fall in this category. Breed to anyting get good pups. Other good reproducers come from a family of coondogs. Good reproducing mothers, out of good litters of coondogs.

The best going now is Trackman, Homer, Cutter. Some like wipeout. Zeb Again

Some up and coming studs are Harry Bawls and Cabo Wabo (wipeout, but with more tree), Big D, Hellbilly

Studs to watch.. Slow Talking Buzz (in SC) and Bone Collector (Out of good reproducing stock)

desperado if this is just not a walker question, his pups will change the way people think of a redbone, sacket jr #'s in a redbone and you can hold me to it.

I really like how Cabo Wabo produces. I have a 2yr old cabo wabo female on top and Skuna River Bark on bottom. This female was a natural coon dog. I am getting ready to bred my other female pup out of Carter's Bruno on top and Texas Lotto on bottom to Cabo Wabo.

I have been impressed by pups out of Traxx Attack as anything I have hunted with in 15 years.

Easy starting..Quick, natural tree dogs, and everyone I have hunted with was wired 440 and had no reverse.
