Not much there,go more west of winchester or Harrisburg into w.VA or across south VA from dismal swamps,danville,Roanoke to Becky w.VA. hope this helps so you don't waste time and money on your hunt.

well i have been invited to come for a hunt around that area and jointing countys on a dog hunt and been told there are a lot of bear there....

Bear hunt

Counties around manassas are prince William with 2 bear kills,Stafford 1 kill,Loudoun 5 kills. Counties a little west a Shenandoah 88 kills,Fauquier 27 kills,warren 27,Rappahannock 29. The counties that I told you are Rockingham with 195 kills,august 136, bath 107 and Alleghany with 100 kills. Dont know why I try to help others out they just don't listen. Well I guest people will figure it out after wasting time and money. Good luck you going to need it.

i am not sure what county we will be hunting for sure i have someone guiding me.i was told he took as many bear as most people around that area.we are going to be staying in abingdon..thanks for your help i will let you know how things turn out for me...

If u don't mind me asking who are u hunting with?

i am hunting with Hunter Powell he is putting me with someone he says is as good of a bear hunter thats around that area....all i know that his first name is Doyle,i talked to him tonight he said that it seems like there were more Bears every year.....

Hope you have a great hunt! The guys around me here are doing well this year on bear. Some of my buddies are telling me they are treeing them and getting the dogs and leading them off the tree, plenty of bear around!

thanks Leroy i am looking forward to it, it's something ive never done and i have never been to Virginia eather.the guy i'm hunting with say there are plenty of bears there to,i am going for a 3 day hunt maby we can stumble upon 1 in three days.....

THE LAST MT. PICTURE SHOWS ICE ON THE TREES,THIS WAS ABOUT 3 O'CLOCK IN THE EVENING.I WAS TOLD THIS MT. WAS 4400 FT. ABOVE SEA LEVEL. I COULD SEE FOR MILES..........

So what county did you register them in. Not asking where your spot at just what County? Also where they all year old bears like the one in picture because if they were you did yourself a bad misjustice.

Don,i only shot 1 bear myself and no it was not the biggest bear in the woods i am sure but i am happy to get him for the first time i have been bear hunting .i do not know where the other bear were killed i was not along and it doesnt matter to me.it's not that i didn't want your advice but these guys agreed to take me so i went.
