Horse Creek Kennels

Just sharing our hunts and Blueticks.
This NtCh Horse Creek White Boy.
Special thanks to Alan Rummle and Dan Rosier for helping us get White Boy.
Boy is a nice coon dog. He has an above average mouth and uses it just right. He can tree lay ups with the best of them. He will bump around on an old feed track and get treed with coon and can fly on a hot track. White Boy has one win toward GrNt and will be finished soon.

Horse Creek Cody Junior.
Junior is 10 month old male pup from Rance Winn's GrNt Foxy female and Ronald Kight's GrNt Midnight Cody. Junior has been a natural from the start. He ran track and treed his third time out and hasn't looked back. Good mouth, a lot of brains, and shows great track speed. High hopes for this one.

Picked up a new female Thursday. She's 2 yr old and outta Poncho x Maude. Easy going so far. Seems to have some drive. Well above average mouth for female. Will put her in some hunts starting February timeframe. Will post some pics soon.

Thanks Casey. I tell ya though man trying to get a kennel full of too blue dogs like you have is gonna put me in the poor house. I sure hope one day I can look back and the small timers like us will have put our mark on the breed. Will get a pic of Diva up soon. She's smart and has a big blocky head. I think she has found her home. I really like her mouth. She has a coarse squall type that carries fairly well. Take care

NtCh White Boy

Evan hunted White Boy tonight in two different bad swamps. Boy got struck around 300 yds pushed track pretty good and loaded up.

2nd drop Boy struck around 200 yds on a bad track. Sounded cold. He did a good job on it and came treed. He was in about a foot or so of water while treeing. He seemed to be winding the coon. All in all a pretty good night.

Rough one

Last night was a rough one. Made several drops and just couldn't get on any tracks. Ol White Boy couldn't even do his usual and find a lay up. On the third drop he finally struck a old track and worked it about 20 or so mins just bumping it for about 550 yds and got treed. Two big coons up tree. He did a great job on it for it to be that old of track. New Female Diva did a little work on this one as well and treed a little. Got a lot of work to do with her.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Time to hunker down and get White Boy ready for the Grand American.

NtCh Horse Creek White Boy looked good tonight. Two drops and we looked at a den tree and the other him and Horse Creek Junior had a big boar coon. Both dogs did a really good job.

Thanks Rance. We will be in good shape if we draw a place with coon. Been hunting a good bit lately and I think we have the ol mutt ready. I think with this cold snap were having right now coons should be walking. Don't forget to send some pics of big boy when you get him. Good luck buddy and safe hunting.

Chasing Whitetails

Yeah Casey some people have it made. I wish Rance the best of luck. This weather has about everything moving at crazy times. Thanks for the good luck wishes.
Took the Diva female out tonight with White Boy. Two drops and absolutely nothing. They both hunted good but no tracks. Hope coons are down Friday and Saturday nights.

Grand American

Well wasn't the best hunt but had a great time. Our cast Scored one coon Friday night and one Saturday night. Boy did ok Friday. Got on a coon that tan in thick briars and a marsh so that killed most of the hunt. They did tree the coon and we got 150 plus. Saturday we had circle and a young man by the name of Zack English won the cast with a nice 3 year old walker gyp. Not a great turnout in Orangeburg this year. The southern swamps has a way of separating the men from the boys I guess. Maybe one day one of these old sorry blueticks can slip up and win it.

Horse Creek junior

Took Junior ( Cody x Foxy ) out last night with my good friend Mr. Ed Wheaton and his nice Redbone called Man. We got an early start and were able to get several drops in. Had a little trouble getting one treed at first. Made slick and a den and on last drop the dogs went in about 350 yds and Man loaded up and Junior backed him. They had a big ol coon sitting up. Junior is starting to get in a rhythm now. He treeing better each time out. Been hunting him a little alone and he's getting it all put together. I think he's gonna be fun to unsnap. Hunted with Ed one night dang nice guy I hunt with a friend of his down here in Beaufort James both are stand up guys....I remb when man was just a pup...heard he has came a long ways

Yeah he's a super nice guy and one the most intelligent men any man will meet. The times I've hunted with Man he does seem to be able to tree coons consistently. If Ed and I venture to Beaufort one evening I'll try and let ya know in advance and maybe we can hunt.

Sounds good let me know I don't have anything at this time but I'll tag along and watch the dogs work and shot the breeze
