Thought for sure it would be a blow out with walkers and plotts ! Didn't see blue ticks / gascons pulling ahead

There are plenty of smaller blueticks. The gascons are huge. I like a dog 50-65#. No bigger

i havent hunted with every plott out there but havent seen that many with cold nose?dont get me wrong i love a good plott and they are tough to beat when you get a good one but really thought english would be best all around.
I have seen good ones in all breeds. We hunt hogs all the time and mostly run cur dogs. However, some of the guys have hounds and I have hunted good red bones, black and tans, walkers, blue ticks and plotts. Some of the hounds bark on track and that is a no no for hogs. We look for dogs that don't bark until they have an eyeball on them.
One of the very best dogs I ever hunted was a plott and I had one for a while that was a pretty good dog.
I'm voting day in and day out bear dogs are plotts , I have seen walkers do it and redbones and English dogs and even some Black and Tans but I never seen a terrier or cur day in and out dogs . At least where I hunt
