Cat minded hounds

No matter what game you run there always seems to be a line that excels on game more so then other, I'm interested in hearing what's out there for cat minded dogs. Don't matter the color

For Redbones

That would be GrNtCh Littleman.

leopards

I sent 4 pups to Utah to a cat hunter. 1st one treed his first cat solo at 10 months old or so. The rest by a year old. Very game and smart. They prefer Cats over coons and will leave a coon track to tree a cat. I can send you Travis's number if you want it.

Ormiston Blueticks. Travis Black has them, and so do I. Make solid lion and bobcat dogs. Hot, dry ground or snow. Mountains or swamps.

Cat Dogs

I grew up in Kansas and cat dogs out there were entirely different there than cat dogs in tall timber country like eastern Oregon where it is 100 foot to the first limb. In Kansas most cats were caught on the ground or treed in small trees. In Kansas dogs were free cast like coon hunting. In Wisconsin most hunters won't go hunting unless they have good tracking snow. Tall timber cat hunting requires a lot better locating tree dog and in my opinion a better dog.

I have found that the offspring of Clear River Diamond Jim seem to be more cat minded than any other blue dogs I have hunted. These dogs will choose a cat over a coon most every time unless the cat scent is extremely cold. I am hunting very few bobcats with my blues at this time as most of the bobcats in this area died out about 6 years ago. I do hunt lions quite a bit and these dogs seem to excel at that game.
Adios,
Gary
