A little breed smack talk
What's up with country music singers? Do they not even recognize Walkers as coondogs? I hear songs with Redbones by Blake, hear songs about Blueticks by a bunch of singers. But can't think of a single country song about Walkers. The only song I can think of that might be about Walkers at all, is some old rock song. I looked it up, it's by The Proclaimers. They sing something about walking 500 miles then having to walk 500 more. Must be following a Walker! This was just for fun so take it kinda easy and bring it on.
They ran through briars.
And they ran through brambles.
And they ran through places a bluetick couldnt go.
The walkers treed coons in the hills and the hollers.
All the way to the Gulf of Mexico.
Hupp two three four !
Tar
That version
I think heard that version of the Johnny Horton classic. Is that the same one where they " powdered Tar's behind and when they touched the powder off Tar lost his mind"
Tar
Wow, that must have hurt. Lol. Dave

There are several bluegrass songs about coonhunting. Milan Millers "Coon Dog Cemetary" mentions several breeds, including Walkers. Big Country Bluegrass ' "Country Living" mentions a very famous Walker. Boxcar's "Jefferys Hell" doesn't say anything about any breed in particular, but the dog gets lost and is never found..... There are more. bluegrass all the way!!! Jr.Steelman.
Boxcars dog
It probably is talking about a walker. Dog got so far out of pocket without a Garmin it was lost forever.
