Refreshing

Local club had a memorial/youth hunt this weekend, and hunted over 40 dogs. Also had a huge turnout for the bench show and day games. Kids had a big time, giveaways and prizes galore, and to the best of my knowledge all the grownups acted like grownups, and nobody had any problems. Local news channel showed up, and portrayed the sport and the people involved in a positive light. I'd be willing to bet alot of youngsters caught 'the bug' this weekend, and a lot of parents got a good reminder about what this stuff is/should be about.

This is the kind of post I enjoy reading. Hunting has kept a lot of our youth out of trouble. Dave

Cory this is great to hear. I agree that you have some that probably got the fever this weekend. Great job.

Wish I could take a little credit, but I wasn't even there. Had some other commitments that kept me from being present, but it was a really good deal according to those that made it. Lot to be said for the family that was good enough to put up the $ for this event, and the good folks that donated their time and energy.
I wouldn't have figured we had 40 hunters left in our part of the world, let alone that many kids that would be interested.

That's great to hear Cory! Thanks for the report and our hats off to all involved on the success of the event. Nice!
