HUNT

Ryan, Drake, Garrett and myself hunted for a while. First drop we cut Spanky and Scout in some hardwood hills. They went 350yds and hit a pipeline and turned up it and started the foot race. We drove around and gave them somewhat of an attitude adjustment and moved to cut them again. We cut them again and they went the wrong way and got close to the road so we headed them off again. We moved and cut Goose, Cotton and my Drifter pup loose up luxapillilia creek. Cotton struck left handed and started a decent track. Goose soon opened about 300yds to her right and was headed up the bottom. Cotton loaded up treed at 575yds and we headed to her. Right as we got to her tree Goose loaded up about 400yds deeper to the right. We found Cotton's coon and Drifter was at her tree so we shot the coon out and laid a drag for Drifter. He is coon crazy and treed good on a hangup. Goose was still hammering and we headed on to him. He had the meat as well in a small beaver pond. We called it a night and headed to the truck. We have been getting to hunt some and treeing a few coons. Hopefully everyone is safe and this Covi-19 mess dissipates soon.

Garrett, Drake and I hunted Saturday night for a while. I bred Goose to Dolly and pulled him out of her pen and loaded him up. We cut Goose and Scout loose on first cut and Goose left hard. He struck at about 550 yds and worked to about 7/10's and loaded up treed. We got to Goose and Scout was split treed 185 yds past him. Both had a coon. Hopefully Scout can get it all put together. Next drop we cut Cotton and my Drifter pup and Cotton struck quick. Drifter opened with her some and Cotton soon loaded up treed at about 475yds. She was up a nasty tree full of vines and a big nest. We couldn't get him to look. We cut them again but ended up catching her as she blew thru a section and got close to a house. Ya'll Keep'em Lookin ' Up !!

We have been getting in the woods some but not like I normally do. Things been somewhat crazy and I still don't have my hunting truck. Put reman heads on it and they were bad and my mechanic has been dragging his feet to get heads and fix the issue cause it is now on his dollar. Hopefully have it done Saturday. Sold my Tacoma right before my Ranger tore up and bought an F250 and been waiting almost 3 months for my title to get a tag. It has been a challenge every way I turn. Both of my sons have started hunting some so we have been going a few nights here and there. I bred Goose to a few nice females so my fingers crossed for some litters soon. Hopefully things get back to normal soon!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up.

Ryan and I hunted for a while last night. We went with a guy that married my niece and he had access to a deer club. We cut Spanky and my Drifter pup loose on first drop and they left out and we had complete silence. The moon was bright and coons just didn't seem to move. At 9:15 I decided to cut Goose and Cotton the other direction. Goose soon opened at 600yds and didn't go far and loaded up treed. He was up a huge den tree and we couldn't see the top of the tree as the canopy was so thick where he was treed. Spanky had opened deep so we moved around and Cotton had struck a bad track and was working up a swamp. Cotton finally loaded up and we headed to her. She was across a large swamp and Ryan and I finally just had to hit it and it got over waist deep. We got out on other side and Ryan got hit on the boot by a copperhead. Ryan killed it and we headed on to Cotton. She had the meat and I don't normally shoot out coons this time of the year but the guy will only take us if we shoot them out. We rolled her coon out to her and headed back to wade the swamp. We drove around and ended up catching spanky around a huge beaver pond and called it a night as it was 12:30 am already. I got home and got out of cold wet clothes and too a shower and had to roll out this morning. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Well I finally have my hunting truck back. I have been hunting a couple nights a week with Drake , Garrett or Ryan. My nephew has also started hunting some with us and I got GrNtChGrCh Smokey River Ann at his house hunting her. I am looking forward to getting back on track with my hunting and looking forward to hitting a few hunts again. Yall Keep'em Lookin Up!!

I havent been on the forums in a while. Work and football has had me running. I am hunting a couple nights a week but we are winding down football season so i will get back to true form. Ive got a couple of young dogs that im excited to start on soon!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Darren and myself managed to slip off and do a little huntin last night we took a couple of young dogs (Drifter and Jesse) and his old Cotton female and his Spanky dog. First drop Cotton struck a cold track and ended up treeing a big den tree, Drifter was with her a treed some on it as well. Next drop we cut Spanky and the young dogs, ended up catching the young dogs up as they got close to the highway. Spanky ended up just falling treed we got to him and was treed right beside where someone had there deer corn but it was slick. O'l Spanky hasnt been hunted in a while and needs a good tuning. Darren hasnt been able to hunt much lately with all that he has going on with his wife being sick and all. If yall would keep Darren and his family in your prayers and good luck to everyone hunting old blue!!

I haven't been on here much lately. I have been hunting some but not like I need to be. I have a nice prospect out of Goose and my Dual Grand Cotton gyp. She is going to be pretty nice with woods time. I plan to tune ole Goose up and hit a few larger hunts this year. Y'all keep'em Lookin' up!!

Good to hear from you buddy. Hope all is well. Old Floyd is done making pups I think but has a lot of nice young dogs out there. He is not enjoying the cold winter up here so far but we are taking good care of the old boy.
