The RED Litter Of Impact

Where are all the pups out of the Dual Grand Outlaw Jesse James Jr x Nitech Outlaw Billie Jean cross? I have 1 that I couldn't ask more from! He's as nice of a redbone pup as I've seen or had in a long time. He's a hard going pup, seems to have a big motor & brains to go with it. He's treed around 20 coons so far & several with other dogs, just wanting more information on the litter & see how there commit along! When BJ makes GRNITECH this will be the worlds 1st All Grand 4 Generation litter, I'm glad Shane Maxey made this super nice cross & allowed me to own 1, & I couldn't think him enough! I will have pictures to come, I don't know how to upload them so I'm gettin someone who does to upload them for me! Thanks everyone!

Tony, that litter is spread out far and wide with the best people I could find for them. They are in the following states...and I hear good reports but I will let their owners post about them
Texas
New York
Alabama
Wisconsin
Missouri
Indiana
Oklahoma
Arkansas
From the reports I am getting, if most of these pups make something of themselves in this many different types of terrains....well I think it will be safe to say that the cross will be proven good one....Shane

I get fired up more & more each time I take him! He covered a 7 month old walker female on a double tonight & then treed a single way ahead of her. Not bad for his age!

Your doing a good job with him brother. Keep it fun for him and never over hunt a young dog. After a good lesson that you want him to really remember whether it was him doing a bang up job on a coon, or him being corrected for something....take him home right home and let it sink in for a night or two. I have found that most of the "training" I do with a young dog is just time in the woods....and when they are doing what you want....do whatever you can to help them remember it until it becomes habit. Most of my interaction with a young dog when it is first starting is correction, followed by immediate return to kennel and a day or two of time for them to reflect on it and remember it. But every night out with a young dog who is starting to run and tree it is my goal to put them in a place that they can be sure to hit a coon without much trouble and without going very far. Some of the best and hardest going dogs I have ever hunted with started out hunting around me within 75 or 100 yards and after they had treed a few coons close I would drop them further from where I thought they would strike one the next time. A young dog will usually figure out pretty quick that there is a coon out there somewhere and if they just go a little further they will find it. If they want to stay close at first...wait till they have hunted the area around you....then walk in another hundred yards and repeat until you get them on one. Pup training can be a headache many times when a pup doesn't do what you think it should...or hope it should. But, it's kind of like raising a child....praise them when they do right, correct them when they do wrong and always, always, take them home and let them think about any major correction that you did with them like trash running or treeing off game etc. From the time they start until they are about 15-16 months this is a rule i try to stick to so they remember the lesson. As they get older I may correct and then go on hunting them.
Keep trying....nothing more satisfying than training your own dog from a pup and then going on a big winning streak

Just keep him in the woods and be careful not to push him too hard and he will make it. He isn't even a year old yet and you can set him back if you over do it. I have seen more dogs ruined by their owners getting too excited and pushing a pup like an old dog until they lose interest. A couple quality drops a night...maybe 3 nights a week is about right for a dog his age. if he starts to get bored....even a little, leave him on the box for a few nights. Its just like taking a little kid hunting....if you take them too young, and too much, and on bad nights when they can't keep their excitement and attention level up....they will lose interest and may never devolop the desire to hunt that we have.
Be especially careful not to push him too hard when it gets really hot and always keep him watered....maybe even carry a bottle with ya if your not hunting around any water. I tought amos to drink from a water bottle when he was about 6 mo of age...he loved it and that was his treat when I pulled him off a tree

No offence Tony, but I think your counting your chickens before your eggs hatch...

There have been/will be many litters the past few years that will impact the breed greatly. But this one in particular has brought many studs from thepast and has brought the old outlaw bblood back to life, wish you all the best.

Lisa, that female sure has a mouth doesn't she?

let me say again, I meant NO disrespect... just think its a little, uh, cant think of how I want to say this... big headed? to call this cross THE litter of impact, rather than ONE of the LITTERS of impact. If you know what I mean.

As you may know, the outlaw line is the line I like and the only red line I truly WANT, so I'm not a hater, just thinking that others litters will impact the breed just as much.

JetXBree
BreeXBilly
AmberXRed
JJjrXDeanna

All those pups will be hitting hunts over the next year or two as well... Plus there are a few that were just made in the past few months that I think will make a great impact as well.

MaggieXRed
BJXRed
JetXKy Kate

oh and those are just the "outlaw/moonlight" crosses that will be popping up, isnt it exciting?

and then there were a few other crosses that arent "outlaw/moonlight" bred that also look good on paper, the Golden Woods Molly X Busko cross and the Red Fever Full Of Mischief X Red cross should also be nice...

Just some food for thought boys

keep up the good work Tony and make'em see red.

Your probably too young to remember how big a deal it was when the first 3 generation all grand pedigree was produced....but it was out of Wild Casey, a dog I handled and help stud for Brian wessel. That was the early 90's andand UKC had it on the cover of the bloodlines and a big write up on it. When b.j. finishes this litter will be the first 4. Generation all grand redbone litter. Anytime something is done that has never been done before...it is going to make an impact in some way or another and with the volume and ability that this litter is showing at a young age....well I don't blame Tony and the others for being optimistic

I didn't mean to sound like this litter wont make an impact, but is it because it's all grand or because a quality female was bred to a quality male??

Well I think all of the above
But I think Tony has high hopes because of what he and others are seeing out of these pups at a young age. Its all speculation at this point on whether they will make an impact or how big it will be....but many of the dogs stacked up in this pedigree impacted the breed so iI would say the odds are pretty good. I got these pups all in the hands of competition hunters who know what a competition dog is suppose to be....and tthat's half the battle right there

I think it's just setting the litter up to be held to higher standard, they are just dogs and if you say its the "litter of impact" if only one is a cull, everyone will focus on that one... I mean look at what happened with the Lipper "Litter of Impact" everyone is all up in their business about why only one is night hunted...

know what I'm saying?

I wouldnt worry too much about this litter failing. It wouldn't matter if all of them make gr.nt.ch. there are guys who hunt more on this board than in the woods and they will find a way to run them down because they never want to give the Outlaw line any credit for what it wins, reproduces or accomplishes....and thats fine. Jealousy is fracturing this breed and has been for years. but i don't do what I do for their approval and I don't care what they think of me or what i am trying to do....because i don't think of them. once i see a persons true colors i never forget.
tony made this thread so I guess he can explain further if he wants.
I would never discourage anyone from dreaming big....thats what drives success

I didn't count my chicks before the hatched, I actually kept my mouth closed this whole time! I've put a lot of thinking into gettin a pup & couldn't believe when Shane give me the privabledge to have 1. I've spent my well earned time & money on mine, I know what he is & goin to be. It won't be long before I start competing in hunts with him. Every other owner of there pups are just as happy with there's. the Lipper litter of impact was blowed up before they knew what they where gunna be, I hunted for & capaneigned dogs for Jerry that owned the litter & made the cross. I was the 2nd person to see the litter. Name another redbone litter that is will be 4 generation all grand & ill say different. Look at JJ & Jacks litter, worlds 1st 3 generation all grand & they made redbone history! This litter will be no different & you can mark these words as I say them. I'd be willing to bet mine will be ready to go & firing on all 4 cylinders by redbone days unless some tragedy occurs!

Good huntin & Keep them RED'S in the winners circle!
