What happened to Spring Creek Walkers?

I have been out of coonhunting for eleven years. I am starting back now but I have missed some things I guess. When I stopped hunting Spring Creek Rock was the line breed to have. What has happened to all the Spring Creek dogs? I haven't seen Spring Creek in a single Ped. yet.

Now that is some good Spring Creek Blood you got there. But where is the rest of the dogs from the Sping Creek line? There was a Gr. Nt. Ch. Spring Creek Tee Gee that used to be advertised in the Cooner years ago. I haven't seen anything from him out there. I had a friend that owned a littermate brother to him that was Gr. Nt. Ch. Spring Creek Sam. I haven't seen anything from him either. They were both directly out of Spring Creek Rock.

Posted by Oak Ridge on 10-03-2006 06:09 PM:

They are all dead....and gone.

The "old" blood of yesteryear has been replaced by the "Stlyish" "Sackett", "Yadkin River" as well as other strains of Walkers.

Spring Creek

Mike Dohoney's Boone bred dogs carry some of the Spring Creek dogs a few generations removed. I think Boone was out of a Spring Creek Rock female. Thunder who I think was by Tom Horn was supposedly out of a female out of Spring Creek Tee Gee. But I guess Mike Could tell more about that.

Monte Gusse(sp) from Ill. gets on here once in a while and I think he had Dummy for a while. He could maybe tell you who has this blood left up close . Don't think you'll find much.

Weren't these dogs tied to Finley River Chief. I always related them to being like the Finley River dogs in style ,only with better color and conformation.

Joe , just curious.....what line or strain would you refer to when looking at Jakes top side. Would you not consider it pretty strong in Finley River or would that be too old a strain to consider and if so what would you call it. I'm really just curious.
I'm thinking Finley River /Banjo would be a pretty good testiment to the "lines" or "strains" that this ped came from.

There is no denying that Finley River Dan would be very influential in the top side of Jake's pedigree. However, there is nearly an equal amount of Johnson's Banjo breeding there as well.

My guess is that it would be a flip of the coin.

The Dolly dog at the far bottom of the pedigree is a litter mate to Martin's Gold Star... both were bred to Boone Creek Mike.... This makes the Sonny Sparkle dog and Dohoney's Cadillac out of the same sire, and littermate sisters....

There are not enough different relatives to say one line is a stronger influence than the others!

I typed Finley River Dan, all the while I was thinking Finley River Chief.....

Spring Creek C.B. was a FR Chief son.

Finley River Dan was the grand sire os Stinson's Angel, who was bred to Spring Creek Rock, and was the mother of Spring Creek Radar.

Sorry for the confusion...

Chief

LoL!/ I knew what you meant Joe . Thanks for responding . I agree . FR/Banjo doubled up.
Yeah you guys are correct except on the dam on Mike.... Banjo II and Merchants Bonnie.

Cadillacs dam (Martins Golden Star ) was by Smiths Old Doc and out of a female named Tuckers Lou

Has anyone heard of Spring Creek Sam? He was a littermate to Spring Creek Tee Gee. This was proably the best dog I have ever seen in the woods. If anyone encounters a dog that has this dog in its ped. let me know.

Cougar

How far back is Radar on your females papers?
I have him 5 generations on my stock of dogs. I bred to Radar and one of these females was bred to to a direct son of houses clint and then that female was bred to Flat rock coma and one of those females was bred to Sackett Jr and then I bred one of my females back to one of these sons.

I loved old Radar. He never got the justice he deserved as a stud dog. He was without a doubt one of the best crosses on my dogs I ever made. I bred to him twice and got outstanding results both times.
