I’ve had the best luck by putting feed around and in the trap for a day or two to get em use to going in. I put a stick through the trap so it won’t shut. When I need one I just remove the stick. I only do it when I’m home where I can check the trap regularly as they don’t seem to last long. Haven’t figured that part out yet. I’ve used sunflower seeds and acorns. Both seem to work good.
Catch a squirrel
The way I catch them it with a 2 door trap for stuff about the size of squirrel or rat and put it on a big stump where a tree has been cut and put corn all the way through and on the pan I like to put it on a stump where there’s acorn shells where one has been eating they’ll see that corn and go through it I’ve caught a lot like that I know a lot of guys put them going up a tree and that works too but I have found putting one on a stump is quicker and easier usually you’ll have one every day or 2 might take 3 days but if they’ve been eating nuts in top of a particular stump you should catch one pretty quick also black walnuts corn or peanut butter Should all catch one pretty quick
