Silent on track
I've got a 14 month old pup that is really starting hunt hard. A month ago I couldn't get her to leave my side now shes getting out 700+. I wanna try to put her in a few comp. Hunts this summer. Shes very accurate and can work a track extremely fast. Only down fall is she doesn't open on track. I know this may sound stupid but has anyone ever corrected this. A friend of mine said he has by releasing a caged coon in front of his hound. And keeping it on the leash and only letting him move the track forward when he opens on track. Does this sound reasonable?
no
JUST KEEP HUNTING HER , SOME DOGS DON''T OPEN UNTIL THEY BEEN HUNTED FOR A WHILE, IF IT'S IN HER GENTIC MAKE-UP
TO OPEN SHE WILL..DON'T BE IN A HURRY TO TRY THE NIGHT HUNTS . SOMETIMES THE DOGS GET BAD EXPERIENCES IN THE NIGHT HUNTS WHICH COULD SET A YOUNG DOG BACK THAT IS DOING GREAT.
