Felt Like October Tonight!!!

Took ole Bluspeck alone tonight up behind the house for a short run. Just had to get out it was clear and a cool 39 degrees when I left the house. Reminded me of October could see my breath and weatherman callin for a frost.

Blu got deep fast and run a nice track. Four nice locates and then into his steady chop. Treed number one up a maple clump and I could see the coons tail hanging down thru the leaves, big ole round thick tail he was a nice one!

Cut Blu again he opened up down in a ravine in the creek, worked round abit then took the track up the oposite side drove it about 250 yards, located and started his steady chop. He was on a hemlock and maple that grew together. Saw Mr coon up in the maple.

Walked up in and cut Blu for the third time he made his way up into the hardwoods, ran another track and treed in a grove of wild apples with grapevines growing together in over a dozen or more apple trees, coon could have been anywhere. Shined but unable to find this one. Called it a nite! Man it was beautiful and moon almost full!

LOL Josh I think I mite keep em! Been at this coonhuntin awhile Bluspeck is my alltime favorite. I still get excited over kill season as much as I did when I was a young man! LOL!

Funny Thing Doug, I was reading this and had the same thoughts..Turned old Gun and Son loose and had same hunt, cool clear weather....But the thing that stood out is when you said you still get excited about upcomming season...I've seen aplenty and still get that same bug.......Good Hunting Friend....Larry

Thanks Larry! I will have to post some pics of our Top Gun pup he is coming along.

Larry you probably dont remember me I introduced myself at English Days in 2001 at Wapakoneta Ohio, I had a litter of pups for sale in the barn out of my old Rooster bred female and Bob Roby's Fallen Timber Dusty. I was there with Bob Roby and Walt Raffle. One of those pups went on to compete against you in the World hunt, GRNITECH GRCH PKC CH ROBINSON'S RED LINDSAY, she was high scoring English female 2007. Bout Jumped out of my skin and made Bob jump from across the room as he was watching an old Hogans Heros Episode! LOL...

He looks great as always! ENJOY the weather! Supposed to be pretty chilly here tonite! Brrrrrrrrrrr...but great hunting weather for those who can get out there..........
