Turkey did some nice work when I drew out with him on Friday night. Treed several coon and Travis, Richard Lambert and myself had a great cast. Saw him run good tracks, work up a not so good tracks and locate solidly and flip it over to a steady chop on the tree. He went hunting good and if he has a hole I didn't see it that night. He struck me as independent, accurate and easy handling. He is bred well top and bottom and is worth a look if you have a female your thinking of breeding. Good luck the rest of the year...shane

Thanks Shane. Most of turkeys wins came in the same fashion as you saw on Friday. He should already be a gr nt ch but I work a lot and I'm just not an every weekend comp hunter. He's only 2 so we have lots of time.

Have either of you hunted with Ice or Jackpot Jackie....the dogs that Turkey's mother is out of?
I have hunted with a few other dogs out of Rocker and Turkey seemed a little different than them....just wondering if he took some of his traits that we saw from his mothers side. His pedigree is stacked so high with winners and good reproducers that it would be hard to tell what he takes after most. I have quite a bit of knowledge of some of his breeding but not other parts. He sounded like his daddy's side and seemed to locate and tree like that side.
I never hunted with Jackie or Ice but have hunted with some nice ones out of Ice. How is the rest of his litter doing? Do they seem to have similar traits?

Unfortunately I didn't get to hunt with jackpot Jackie or ice. I've been told byseveral people that Jackie was very very independent. Some say it was actually a fault because she would never cover another dog but in thick coons she could really dominate. Turkey will cover another dog but e doesn't like to. I can't speak about ice because I know nothing about the dog. I would like to know more about him though. Brian would know more about turkey's littermates. I know of 1 other male that is a nt ch and I believe that Fred Moran recently bought him.

Shane what dogs out of Rocker have you hunted with,just curious.Turkey gets his looks from his momma outside of that it's hard to tell,I've seen a lot Sam's traits in him,but with so much good stuff piled into one dog it's hard to tell.I don't think a person could wrong with breeding to Turkey and he should cross well on a lot of different lines.Turkey has proven he can dominate a cast and win.Keep him tuned up Travis Autumn Oaks is rite around the corner.

Hunted with the gr.nt.ch. female called chance, hunted with Turkey, hunted with another male earlier this spring that's I think was from Illinois, and hunted with a female last fall that I believe the man said had some razor red breeding on the bottom side. I am bad with names but did remember they said they were out of rocker.
