Re: Registered Classes -

This is a WQE. Registered does not hunt with champion or grands. What is required for a registered dog to be qualified for the World Hunt in this hunt?

Posted by kellyranches on 08-31-2017 01:56 AM:

A first round cast win Chuck. If you dog wins it's cast it's quilifed

I have not been to this hunt but there will be a lot of first round casts ! Surely not ALL those cast winners in all categories will qualify for the world hunt, will they? How many hounds were there last year?

Posted by DirtyCoal on 09-01-2017 01:47 PM:

Yea Chuck, every plus point cast winner is qualified for the world. It's kind of a last chance to get your dog qualified deal.

From SR 36, take 93 South to West Lafayette. First stop light, go right 1 1/2 mi. to Schumaker Farms on left. Signs posted. Elimination Event. WQE. All-Star Bonus Points Event. NHBA Sectional.

Friday - Ch Round 1(A) 6am Ch Round 1(b) 8am Saturday - RegRound 1(A) 6am RegRound 1(B) 8am Sunday - Grands 6am

This is not a typical qualifier: Dogs do run in their own categories. All first round cast winners are qualified for World. DOGS ALLREADY QUALIFIED ARE ELEGABLE TO RUN IN THIS EVENT!

To show in bench show you will need to compete in the hunt or show proof of 50 UKC hunting beagle hunt points.

If you are registering a dog, bring all the info you have available for the dog including pedigree (not required but if you have it bring it because your UKC registration will include this info), birth date, breeder...

Hope this helps clarify! Please correct me if this info is not correct.

Sat, Sep 9, '17 6:00am 8:00am Beagle Hunt -- $20.00
Sun, Sep 10, '17 6:00am Beagle Hunt -- $20.00

* Deadline 2 applies to the Champion and Grand Champion classes

If I understand this correctly Friday is a world qualifier. Reg CH and Grands run together. 2 rounds and you can run a dog in either round regardless of title. You can run 2 dogs/ one in each round. You can register your dog prior to hunt deadline so be early enough to fill out the paperwork and have the dog inspected by the breed inspector.

Saturday the memorial starts. It is not a world qualifier and Reg Ch and Grands run separate. Reg deadline is 6, Ch and Grands 8. The Saturday hunt is completed on Sunday. It is not a separate hunt with an additional entry fee.

To show in bench show you will need to compete in the hunt or show proof of 50 UKC hunting beagle hunt points.

Dan, the McVay Memorial is set up differently. Otherwise, you would be correct.

Even though it is a Last Chance Qualifier, it is not set up like a normal WQE. Champion classes run on Friday, with two different time options. A and B rounds.

Registered classes run on Saturday, also with two different time options. A and B rounds.

Grands run on Sunday morning where they all run in the same round.

Hope this clarifies.

Its always been a world qualifier but it's never been like you are describing. We thought that Champs are supposed to run Friday. The registered run on Saturday and the Grands Sunday. Never seen it where everybody runs together at the Mc Vay on Friday. There will be a lot of pissed off people if this is the case. A lot of guys are using Vacation to be at the hunt on Friday with their Champ dogs. Seems like a few are making this more difficult than it really is. Hope somebody that really knows whats going on will speak up.

Bill you are exactly right. It's run exactly like nationals in terms of rounds. The SAME person could run 5 dogs at this event. 2 champions, 2 registered, and a grand. Win your first round cast with plus, and your dog is qualified for the 2017 world hunt. Good luck and hope to see everyone this weekend.

OOPS! My Bad! Glad I called UKC immediately after posting. The Upcoming events listing showing the asterick for round 2 being for CH and Grands, typical qualifiers, and the rule for not running in a qualifier after being qualified had me confused. On the brighter side this is a great set-up and a great opportunity to run so many dogs. Could run my whole pack at this one...
