2018 World Finals Location Announcement

The 2018 UKC World Championship Finals will be held at the Morrow County Fairgrounds in Mt. Gilead, Ohio on September 20th - 22nd. The event is being hosted by the Morrow County Coonhunters Association located in Cardington, Ohio.

Proposed Area Club Participation and Guide Assistance (by City): Cardington, Johnstown, Mount Vernon, Marion, and Marseilles. It is expected that up to all casts will have quality guides and will travel under 60 miles to hunt, with most of the casts hunting 30 miles or less. Probably 1/3 of casts will hunt within 15 minutes of the fairgrounds.

Fairground Accommodations:
Main Event Building: Approximate size 120X72. Building has Aluminum Bleachers, Stage, Rest Rooms, Smooth Finish Concrete Floor, Two Large Overhead Doors. Building is big enough to host the show and all spectators. There is also the availability of other buildings, including covered pavilions.

Best Western Executive Inn (7 Miles) 33 Rooms Available, Pet Friendly with Fee. Outdoor Pool, Breakfast.
Knights Inn (6.5 Miles) 44 Rooms Available, Pet Friendly with Fee.

La Cabinita (Mexican) Very Good
Rusty HorseShoe (Very Good American Food)

Pretty decent hunting... I will have a couple qualified this yr! But we are still hoping for a Michigan Finals someday soon!!!

This will be a great location for the finals. I may be a little partial since it's 10 mins from my house but the Morrow County coon hunters will do their best to make all casts enjoyable. Looking forward to next year.

Awwwww horse dookie Joe. Didn't here of nobody hunting in those pecan plantations that was a full moon here that week and we hunted in the pecans and treed three or four a night I could have scouted their woods a week before the hunt and I can guarentee we would have treed more coons than that and you could have too.

Seriously when the UKC world hunt comes to your hometown you got men and teenagers from local clubs that wants to judge a cast to say they judge a cast in world finals to put a notch on their belt. When in reality other than knowing the basic rules has no idea how to professionally judge a non hunting cast. When the world was in Flora a few years ago my first round was with a judge who had no idea the rules and I had to explain several.
The first rule was 1 dog struck and treed, 3 at large but struck in. We scored the tree plus up. Cut the dog back loose on other dogs working track. 2 dogs at large got treed before the dog that was plus got struck. Before tree time was up the dog that was plused treed in with other 2. The 4th dog got treed through the country before shining time started. Plus up all dogs on the split trees. I asked to look at scorecard. Judge had the first dog that plused up with 25 plus strike points. I told him that those points are deleted. Had to argue with him and the other guys say yes that's the way it is. This was a basic rule that he had no clue. And it got worst from there. Point being I hear every year about judges like this. Why cant UKC invest in the finals for top quality judges that knows the rules? JMO
