Socialism

Now I realize that "socialism" or "socialist" has become somewhat of a dirty word during this past election.
Nobody wants to be branded a "socialist" except Bernie Sanders and AOC.
But socialism is the belief in a Communist form of government. The government owns all property and business. The government reaps all profits and then distributes it to the people. Of course the government keeps a portion for operating expenses which include paying all of the government employees needed to run such a government. The government also hires and fires (or eliminates) these employees as they see fit.
Now the head and higher ranking members of the government can be elected, appointed or just take over and rule by force. So you can actually have a Democratic socialist/communist form of government.
The opposite is a capitalistic, free enterprise form of government. Everyone knows what that is.

But what if you have a capitalist, free enterprise economy but a "socialist/communist" form of government? The government let's the people run the economy. Of course the government puts a lot of controls or regulations on the people's ability to run their businesses. Then the government charges or taxes the businesses and people to get the money to pay for all of this government. They collect from the people and then distribute this money as they see fit while keeping a certain amount for "administrative fees".
Now if this is a Democratic form of government, the people have a choice as to who they want to make these governmental decisions.

So the lines between socialism and capitalism can get a little blurred. You can believe in a Democratic form of government and still be a socialist. Or you can believe in capitalism and still believe in a socialist leaning government that taxes businesses and distributes the wealth to non workers or low income workers.

Farmers

Everybody you talk to from up north say farmers are most all multi millionaires? I really don't know much about it but I think trump plan might have helped farmers more in the long run in his idea of things. I don't think he would be dumb enough to intentionally try to hurt the farming industry by no means. I know any policy he had I think he was trying to help people, didn't matter who you were or how much money you had. I know a local farmer that made the comment that he received a $192,000 check from the government and never put any crops in when Obama was in and farming isn't even a major business in Tennessee so the welfare system was already there. Like I said I don't know much about it, just what the guy said?
I know trump related to the common man more than anyone I have seen in office and have read where he helped alot of people during his life in different ways. I know he has always had the same message and said the same things about what needs to be done about China ever since he was young. I know Biden and Harris changed with the wind to get whatever voting base they were after. Trump is Trump no matter who he is around. Its hard to trust people that become a different person according to what crowd they are around. That's what makes trump so popular whether people like him or not.

100% TRUE. When raised a victim it is always someone else's fault. No self accountabilty. It's the easy way out, blame your mistakes on someone else. They rarely get any better in mentality unless the handout is taken away and they are forced to make it on their own. I have seen a few changed but not many. It is like feeding a wild animal, if you quit feeding them some will go back to gathering food for themselves but most will start raiding other food sources and stealing what they need. Then they have to be caged up and dealt with. Self Pity and laziness is powerful to overcome . Liberals can't win on policy. They have sank to their lowest level yet...Cheating.

That don't add up because most Republican voters vote in person and their votes, in your scenario, would not have made a difference because they would have already been counted when they shut the voting off at midnight even if they did vote for Biden. Trump was way ahead at that time. The votes that made a difference came way up in the morning on mail in ballots. In essence Republicans don't vote mail in. You see what I am getting at. It don't add up according to the data we are supplied with. Not arguing, just my way of looking at it.

Is socialism all right as long as it is Democratic socialism?During his Primary campaign Biden said that he was a Socialist. He told Bernie that he would "play an important part" in his administration. He even selected a socialist, Kamala Harris, to be his VP. Now Biden says that he isn't a socialist. Bernie, Elizabeth Warren and the Squad are nowhere to be seen in his administration. Elizabeth Warren says that she will "push and work toward the President's agenda". Which Biden did the dumrats elect? Is he a socialist or not? Bernie, Elizabeth and AOC are certainly wondering. I wonder if he even knows?

My mother is over 65, and on Social Security and Medicare.

All of my living aunts and uncles are also over 65, and on Social Security and Medicare.

Do I criticize them for participating in socialist programs? NO. I'm glad these programs are there for them.

Don't tell Mom, but me and my cousins prefer that our parents take their socialist benefits and continue to live independently. I'm sure we are not alone in that sentiment.

I also want those benefits to be there for me in the future.

I even drive on public highways (taxpayer funded), send my kids to public school (taxpayer funded), and even utilize public lands (taxpayer funded). Benefits of socialism!!! But, through paying taxes, I also support these social (Socialist) programs. At the current time, I'm probably more on the paying end of socialism, but, when I retire, I may shift toward being more on the receiving end.

Isn't social seurity a retirement plan just like an IRA or 401k? You pay your money into a savings plan and then draw it out when you retire. It is administered by the government so it is a little socialistic. President Trump proposed switching to private accounts that you controlled yourself but the politicians and dumrats pitched a fit. They like the government controlling our money.

Medicare is an insurance program but it too is administered by the government which causes lots of problems and corruption. If you want a good example of how bad socialism is just look at the Medicare program. Medicare is trying to go private with "Medicare Assurance" and "Medicare Plus" programs. The government pays private insurance companies to administer Medicare. The dumrats want to switch to Medicare for all when Medicare is already the most terrible and corrupt program they have. Does that even make any sense?

Public schools are also a socialist failure. Just look at them vs private schools. The corruption in public or government run school systems is rampant. President Trump has also been trying to switch us over to privately run schools where parents or consumers have control of where their child goes to school and therefore the schools work for the parents and not the Politicians. But there again the dumrat politicians, teachers and corrupt school officials are pitching a fit. They want control. They don't think that parents know what is best for their kids.

It was an example of how the government fails whenever they get involved in anything. Even the CDC said that shutting down the economy was wrong and we all know that sending out all of those stimulus checks to people that were still working and to the ones on unemployment + $600 was wrong. I guess that is why everyone was laughing.

I forgot about "public roads". Everyone knows that there is no corruption in public road construction and maintenance. And the men that work on all of the county, city and state maintenance work crews are the hardest workers in the country. They never hide in their trucks and sleep. Four of them never stand around leaning on their shovels watching one poor guy work.
This is another great example of how government programs work. We need more socialistic government programs. Just wait until John Kerry and the Green New Deal people get started.

Let's get rid of all those hard working public roads workers there nothing but a bunch of no good lazy folks, and those pipeline workers in Louisiana and Texas oil is cheap on the market they gotta go also, and those lazy school teachers.....out! How bout those truck drivers sitting on there butts mile after mile, farmers only work 4 months a year they gotta go, ........and on and on and on ..........
