Thoughts ?

So i got a pup back in August and guy said he would have the papers in 5 to 6 weeks and he said if i needed to ever sell the pup he would buy it back well now he still doesnt have the papers and he says he has to keep sending in dna from the sire and well i got a 3rd shift job now and i asked him if he would buy the pup back and he is giving me the go around badly so im having to try to take a big loss and sell it for way less then i paid because its hard to sell a none paperd pup whats all your thought on what should i do about the situation

I remember when I had orginally paid up Shack as a performance sire I paid in June they sent me the DNA swab in July which I sent back. In September while at the world hunt I asked the girls to check into the status and it had just been sent in for verification. It was October before it was completed. The other kennel club which will not SS pups unless both the sire and dam both have a DNA profile on record takes anywhere from 4-8 weeks for DNA. If a dam does not have it done previous to being bred it can take awhile. Also, if she was bred and her papers are not in the breeders name yet it can take awhile for everything to be verified as kosher. Sometimes they will request another swab, this happened to my son earlier in the year. It was about a 3 month long process to get everything done for him to be able to sire pups.
The guy could just be putting you off or he may truly be trying and it is out of his hands. We've been on both sides of the fence. My recommendation is if it is $kc you think he is waiting on is to call them. Have at least both the sire and dams name and the guy that is registering the litters name and ask on the status of this litter. They are typically forth coming with info. No use in calling UKC if you are not the owner of the sire or the dam they will not give you any info. If this guy is not the owner of the sire call them they can find out if a litter has been registered or is in the process usually.

Unfortunately this happens to often. It may be he is trying to do the right thing for you.
There is a lesson here for many. NEVER get the dog/Pup without the papers.
