Why do you have to be a resident of the US? Dogs that reside in Canada not worthy?

Thanx Dave

REGIONAL AND FINALS EVENT FORMAT
The first leg of the UKC Tournament of Champions is to compete in one of the four strategically placed Regional Events. These hunts will be held on Friday and Saturday nights, with one round on each night. Hunt time period for each night is two (2) hours, utilizing hunting judges. All UKC Licensed Nite Hunt Honor Rules are in effect for the UKC Tournament of Champions as applicable for the year the event is being held, unless noted otherwise. Owners have the option to enter their eligible dog in any one of the four regional events. Unless scratched for fighting, a dog may compete on one or both nights at the region and be eligible to advance to the Finals. A dog scratched for fighting on any night at the regions is also disqualified from any further competition and is not eligible to advance to the Finals.

A total of 64 dogs will advance from the Regionals to the Finals. The number of dogs advancing from each region is pro-rated, based on the number of entries in the region and the total entries entered in all regions. After advanced entries close and all entries have been processed by UKC, the number of dogs advancing from each Region to the Finals will be determined and announced. All dogs advancing to the Finals will be eligible for a portion of the $200,000 purse (Payout Schedule). The Finals will feature three rounds of competition, all are two-hour hunts. Round 1 will be held on Friday night. Rounds 2 and 3 (Final Cast) are held on Saturday night. Non-Hunting Judges will be used on all casts.

Good question Dave. It's a legal issue, is all I know. Therefore, Canadian clubs will not be assessed the $5 additional recording fee.

Wish I had a better answer Donnie and I might be able to get one. This program took a lot of legal vetting and it turns out we are not legal or approved for Canada, as I understand it.

Donnie all you got to do is have a summer residence in Oklahoma lol. We got people that work in Texas and live in Oklahoma that have a Texas residence so they don’t pay Oklahoma state tax.

You can say you live with me we will get you a green card lol.

Allen, if I read over this I apologize, but nailing down the exact format.......

Are the zones just like zones for the World Hunt in that it goes double cast winners combined score, then single cast winners high score? Must you have plus points to be a CW? Also, it would seem the wording says the only scratching offence that would knock out a single cast winner is fighting?

Then in the Top 64, is it elimination style? Must you have plus points to advance?

Thanks!

It also looks like you don't have to hunt both nights at the regionals.

I know I should have seen it but are they using cast wins or scores to get to the top 64.

Both, double cast wins then high score.

That is an Excellant question. Will the 48 round one cast winners that don't advance have to have plus points to get the $1,000? Will the 12 round 2 winners that don't advance have to win with plus points to get the $2,000? If so, how will the cast winner be determined if no dog in a cast has plus points?

All those that make it into the top 64 are guaranteed a minimum of $1,000. This would be all first round losers. The money factor on this will be much like the Grand Masters, plus points not necessary to get paid.

Yes sir, the paying part seemed pretty clear - wondering mainly if all CW's advanced in Top 64 regardless of score?
