Country

Looks like he is doing his part in the breeding pen, I am very excited to see these Walker Country Cross dogs in the winners circle. Dave

Babe and her sister both advanced to Friday night at the Super Stakes this week as well. Too bad Babe had to pick one or the other.

Good luck to Babe and Dink!

Who would have thought an old blue cull that won't stay treed and throws pups with no mouth would have two in the top 26 and 2 in at the Super Stakes this year? Just last year he makes the top 8 of 3 world hunt in one calendar year and had been bred very very little. All the naysayers need to take note. This is only the beginning!

X2, I see some future big winners from these Walker crosses, reminds me of the old days in these mountains breeding coon dog to coon dog. The X Breed registry is just what was needed to put new blood into proven lines to make them even better. I love it. Dave

Babe

Well at this point Babe can do no worse than 7th place, she is hunting in 4th round to determine the 4th dog in the Final Four Cast, she could win this cast and go on and win the final cast to be the World Champion. She has beat her daddy already in placing higher in the World Hunt. Better get you some of that Country blood, it's working. Dave

As predicted by the famous yadkintar those females were out of a double yadkintar rattler breed mother, he said they would be good so get you some yadkintar rattler blood..

X Breed have only had the opportunity to hunt in UKC as registered dogs for a short time and we are seeing success in the hunts as proven by Babes 5th place finish in the UKC WORLD HUNT. I highly suspect you will see more X Breeds doing the same in the coming years. It's hard to compare the success of a breed that's been allowed to hunt for many years in UKC to the X Breeds that have only recently been allowed to compete as Registered dogs. Dave

He was jabbing at the blueticks breed as a whole not the xbred dogs.

No, he was jabbing at me for advocating breeding to a bluetick. Separation of the breeds bluetick, English and walker due to registration requirements deprived us of the ability to breed best to best regardless of breed, the X Breed registration now allows that to happen. While I am a Walker man, I am at heart a coon hunter that wants the best dog I can get regardless if breed. I have seen some excellent cross breeds that NEVER had the opportunity to compete in the UKC HUNTS, that has changed for the better. Dave

Nope I was just making a common sense statement. All the other breeds besides Leopard cur and blueticks have won the world. If I was going to make a xbreed mating it would be with walker/english, the two most winning breeds, not a loser over a winner but then again it will probably help the bluedogs.

You have that freedom, but any breed can be improved by the right cross, BABE was no fluke and you will see more. I say both breeds can benefit from these crosses by breeding the best to the best. It is a tool that's now available and still let's you register the offspring. I am for any cross that can produce better coon dogs whatever the breeds are involved, XBreeding is just another tool.
