I invented the Mity Max squaller that was pretty popular for the past 20 yrs and I would say the Zepp's squallers are more similar to it than the BANSHEE for several reasons. The Mity Max and Zepp's use similar reeds and they use 2 of the same in each squaller. The Banshee uses 3 reeds and they are a combination of different reeds that are hand tuned by me. What this does is gives full range sound from blowing soft and trilling...to blowing hard loud screaming death cries....all from the same voice module. The extra reed when combined with the other two different reeds increases the volume and offers many different sound possibilities. The easily removable and interchangable triple reed voice modules are also unique to the Banshee and make it simple for anyone to change voice modules in just a few seconds. The Banshee is a new idea which improves upon my old Mity Max design adding more volume, wider voice pitch range and speed and ease of reed changes.
In closing, I would like to say that Mark Zepp is a friend of mine and makes a fine line of coon squallers and predator calls that has served and will continue to serve many hunters well. The Banshee is just another option for hunters looking for something a little different. My squallers are semi-custom made and I cannot mass produce them in huge quantities...nor do I really want to. I have been able to fill mail orders in a timely manor but may never be able to supply dealers in the quantities that they would require. I am not trying to get rich from selling them, I just wanted to make enough to cover my hunting and hound expenses. I have a full time job in maintenance working for General Motors for the past 16 yrs and have 2 other small businesses so making the Banshee squallers is more of a hobby for me. I would be glad to make one up for anyone who wants to order one and give it a try. Thanks to everyone who is using and talking about them across the country. Look for more video coverage of the Banshee in upcoming episodes of "treed.tv" with host Curt Ahring! Good hunting everybody....Shane Maxey

I've had my banshee since the Convoy RQE and I love it. Coon will look at it quick and you can make them move pretty easily. Definitely a great product!

Yes, it is one squaller that comes with interchangable voice modules. Each module is hand tuned by me and has 3 seperate reeds embedded into a stainless spring steel casing. The most popular voice modules are the adult and kitten coon. Many prefer to use the kitten voice in the spring and summer and switch over to the adult for the fall and winter. Thanks for all the interest, Shane
