Beast Mode Blueticks

I decided to create a thread to use as a timeline to highlight my hounds, since I finally decided to create a "kennel" name, and to stick with it.

I have a young male that I'm having a lot of fun with. He's been doing a great job, by himself, treeing wild coons since a very young age. I am looking forward to getting him in some hunts this year and seeing how he stacks up against competition. I will get some pups out of him in the near future, and he is here if anyone wants to see him go. If I can finish him to GrNtCh, he'll be able to sire an all grand pedigree.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of Tramp, with my fiance, Nikki, and our son Mason. This was Mason's first ever coon hunt. Mason was around 10 months old, Tramp was around 12 months old.

HERE'S MY PIC FROM THAT NIGHT.

This is what Tramp looked like when we got to the tree. They took this track a long ways, we thought we heard a snarl so we drove around to get closer. When we got there the dogs were both screaming at the tree. Apparently a little live, biting ball of fur will do that....

He eats well.

Lately he has been recovering from catching a coon in a culvert a week ago tomorrow. Would've been a nice one to get in the fall, the coon was as long as Tramp.

Thanks brother Clyde! Hopefully there will be some pups on the way. I dropped off Dot today to be bred to Ch GrNtCh 'PR' Appels Blue Oak Boomin Jet. Jet is also Tramp's Dad. Dot is bred very similar to Tramp's Mom, so we'll see what comes from it.

Sure am having a great time at BBOA Days!! Tramp got 1st runner up in the junior young guns on Thursday night, and won his cast Friday night. Not the greatest score, but we'll see if it's enough to get in the top 10. Either way, we're all having a great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones along the way. The hunting is truly just a bonus.

Had a great time at BBOA this year. I sure do enjoy this trip. Had a great time in each of the 3 casts we were in. Sportsmanship was definitely present throughout each night. Tramp ended up getting 1st Runner Up in the Junior Young Guns Thursday night with 300+, and got 9th place opens Friday night with 250+. Saturday night he looked OK, just couldn't get the breaks to go our way. I was more than happy to see a 15 yo finally get the breaks he was waiting for and get his first cast win that placed with his dog.
