Ch.Gr.Nt.Ch. Appel's Blue Oak Boomin' Jet

Dad and I have decided after much thought to offer Jet at stud. He is here first and foremost for our use, but we really think he has something to offer the breed and we do not want to look back and say I wish he was used more. We are not breeders, we raise a litter occasionally for us. We are more interested in getting quality pups than anything. A little about Jet.....he runs track with a bawl, locates with a big booming bawl and trees with a bawl/ chop. Finished to grand at 2 years old. Is from a successful litter in which several made top hounds. Jet's best attributes are his track speed, mouth,drive, independance, and accuracy. Handles thick and thin coon the same. Full of brains, does not need a leash when hunted. He is more often split in a cast than with other dogs. All but one of his Nt.Ch. wins came with leaves off. His weakness in my opinion are he is not the best lay up dog, has treed them, but definately not his strength and we are trying to make crosses that help that in future generations. Jet is not perfect, but he pleases me more than any hound I have turned loose. No formal stud fee, just a matter of correspondence, not gonna make money in hounds anyway, just want to make a better bluedog. He has only sired 2 litters and they are both 11 weeks old. Good looking pups and already treeing on scent. Performance Sire for 2012.

Enjoyed reading this-can't remember ever reading a better one-well thought out, all the information and I hope people will realize that dogs bred like this have a greater chance of reproducing dogs for us all that perform in a similar manner.Good Luck!

From what I saw out of jet, he is just as jake described him. He didn't waste any time getting treed the night I went with him.

I got a male out of Pounder, and am no longer on the "dark side" as Jake put, and he is a good lay up dog. I've liked Jet everytime I've seen him whether he's horizontal or vertical on the wood.

I'm very excited to see how the Jet x Mindy 3 pups turn out. I really really wanted to get my hands on one, but it just wasn't the right time for me to be messing with a puppy so I didn't even ask.

If Mindy 3 is like her half brother that I own, she should put some lay up abillity into Jet if you feel he's lacking there.

We should get together one of these nights and take advantage of this amazing winter we've been having so far.

Wouldn't mind hooking him up to Sassy to see what comes out. Not that I need any more pups but she's getting old and has 1 maybe 2 more breedings left in the old girl. She seemed to have put out a coon dog or two.

Thanks Dennis, it means a lot coming from someone who hunts top hounds themselves. I am really wanting to mix some of your and Coreys breeding with Jet, as I think it would work.
