Hunting Trip

Wanting to plan a weekend trip to some big timber to hunt. Any recommendations on large national or state forests with cabins available or somewhere private that's available to rent?

The closer to the southeast the better.

Thanks!

Is the delta flooded

The delta is not flooded at this time from river water. We got several inches of rain this week, but nothing to worry about. The south delta was under water several months earlier this year but not as long as last year. Hunting will be ok but I believe the coon population will continue to be lower than normal due to several years of spring flooding. Jr.Steelman.

The water left in late June finally they opened the gates so we could get to our huntin clubs in mid to late august I rode around every road we have In our section and saw very few coon tracks, matter of some facts seen very little sign of wildlife even bein there tree rats and a little bit of deer sign that’s about it heck it even killed the snakes which I’m not mad about one thing is for sure your dogs won’t trash on something there is no possums armidillos mice hogs fox cats Big feet’s Sasquatch etc etc very few deer heck the only thing that’s plentiful is skeeters they will suck you dry lol
