Kuester bred black and tans

I was wondering if any body knows anything about the Kuester Black and Tans from about 30 years ago from I think Highlinder wisconson They were used on bear, cat and coon . ive done a little diging and found that they were some pretty nice hounds for being AKC bred big long eared big bawl mouths , were a little slow trackin but got treed and was pretty accurate, Ed Kuester was the owner of the hounds ,, If you can give me a little info It will be much appreciated ,, Have a Blessed One ,,, Ron

How about Rhinelander Wisconsin . Ours was big long earred slow deep long bawl. I mean slow but when he hit the tree it was a coon or a legitimate den tree. I had one male out of himback when ashburn and i started huntingbcc together when he was hunting your hounds . The dogs up in Wisconsin went to someone else after he passed but thats as far as i went with it. They were bear dogs and coondogs second

got ya Ron

My first purebred was a female picked up in Rhinelander Wisconsin at Ed Kuesters house. She was not a real good hound but would find game for me occasionally. THE BEST SOUNDING HOUND I HEARD BY FAR, BAWL ON TRACK AND A YODEL WHEN TREEING OR BAYING. I just let her loose in the yard all the time. One day she went out to the swamp on her own and I heard her yodeling for about 30 mins. I went back to the swamp and she was baying 2 very small whitetail fawns. I walked to within 6 feet of the fawns before one finally ran away and the other just would not move . I finally leashed my hound and went home. When I picked up some pups at Art Hunzikers house he said he was good friends of the Kuesters and they did have good hounds with a lot of natural hunting in their line. They were bred for big game not coon. The name of Kuesters Kennel was LIMBERLOST KENNEL...Go to facebook and search" Black and Tan Coonhounds Limberlost Kennels" . When Kuesters shut down their kennel there was a couple in PENN. that bought their remaining hounds , the face book page I mentioned is their page. I have seen a few others on facebook who have Limberlost or Mcdonald lines about 4 generations back in their peds. Some hunt the hounds but most do not.... In todays competition game these hounds would not do good with their rules. They would do better when the weather gets bad and no hot tracks to run. That brought back some good memorys for me , thanks Ron.
