Dog losing mouth question
I know this is a general question and I already know what 99% of the answers will be, but I will give a little background first...
Hunted this dog hard until she was around 2, always had a decent mouth, but nothing crazy. Stopped hunting and laid the dog up for 18 months-2 years. Never let her bark around the house because I have close neighbors.
My thoughts and questions are. Did it become stale from lack of use? Vocal cords have to be used to maintain a certain volume? Or is it something else? Could It be a low TSH or T3? Possibly need to run a round of antibiotics to clear out a minor infection? Or is it just part of being over weight and needing thinned down due to lack of condition and excess weight gain in the neck area?
Looking for legit answers... Not out a bark collar on, give her la200, and some honey.
Wanting to hear from someone that has maybe went through this. Dog is being hunted 3 nights a week and mouth is coming around a little, but still nothing compared to before. Dog is only 4 years old.
Thanks for any help!
