I think the book of 2 Peter plainly illustrates what will happen if you drop out of the race!
What I do not understand is why would anyone want to take a chance on it?

Your name is not written in the Lambs Book Of Life when you get saved, your name was written there before you were ever conceived. I believe that when you die in a lost condition, your name gets blotted out. Check it out in the book of Revelation.
This is just how I understand it.

Verse 20... The only way you can escape the pollutions of the world is to come to know Christ. This verse is plainly referring to the redeemed because if you are not redeemed, then you never escaped the pollutions of the world.
Verse 21 is self expanatory I would think.
Verse 22..... The sow as being the wicked man saved, then backsliding.

sin does not conquer salvation. it aint about works, our righteous is filthy rags compared to christ.we trust in christ for our salvation and not ourselfs.we cant loose what we gave away,so i dont worry where iam going when i die, cause i gave my life to christ.

It ain't about works? How can you proclaim something you're not willing to work for? That why is so easy to slander the pres.and proclaim to be a christian,because i'm saved thereforth i can live anyway i wanna. Hard being a christian but easy being a hypocrite!! NOT DIRECTED AT YOU SKEET, JUST VENTING. Lot of things I don't understand but I know when i'm wrong so there is no mystery about doing what's right,just excuses!! I think God giving sense plays a role in everyday life.

Jesus Christ done the work and paid the ulitmate price for our sins. There is no way to work your way into heaven. We can never be good enough in our own selves to make it . Sin has a price. The wages of sin is death. We sin. We die. Jesus Christ is the only way. As far as loseing our salvation. The bible says nothing can pluck us from the hand of God. How could we lose something that we didn't have anything to do with getting ? We didn't save ourselves so how could we unsave ourselves ?

The work is done. The price is paid. The veil of the temple is torn in two. When Jesus died, he said " it is finished". He didn't say. I am finished. He said. IT is finished. What is "it" ? Depends on whether you "believe" the Bible or not. Jewish salvation- faith and works, Gentile salvation- Faith plus nothing. The book of Galatians explains the prior statement, mixing Law and grace. Romans 8:35-39 It' all about "rightly dividing the word of truth." Just putting scripture in it's proper context is all it takes. Just take God at his word, not man.

Saving grace. Why do you think Jesus never mentioned works to the woman at the well? He told her all she had to do was take a drink from the well, ONLY ONCE. And she would have eternal life. If Jesus only had a few minutes to tell this woman how to be saved why did he not mention works? Because they aren't necessary for salvation and to say so is completely unbiblical. Works aren't a requirement for salvation. Not even close.

If your saved, and the Holy Spirit is in you, then you will show the fruits of the spirit.

Let me ask you a question. What about John 3:16? Romans 3:28? Galatians 2;16? if you would read James and not google verses to try and disprove faith alone you will find your answers. What about the their who was saved on the cross at Calvary? Jesus said he would receive eternal life. Yet, how could he do works when he died shortly after? Did Jesus lie to him? Just curious how you see those verses
