need advice on a dog
I have a 2 yr old male that has been doing super no problems no fooliness no trash mainly hunted alone around 85 90 percent accurate
the kind you cut him if he strikes you will get him off the tree
the last few weeks has been acting odd goes hunting fine but he acts like he is running in quick sand not moving tracks very well
has located on trees in area mill around in that area for 5 mins or so then takes off then later comes treed but not treeing as hard as he has started gnawing at the tree alittle he is in excellent health
all shot and worming up to date doesnt act like he feels bad but he seems like he is not as motivated its not like him at all alot of the trees he has ended up on I cant say if the coon was there or not plus my eyesight is not that good I have been hunting dogs for quite along time and I have not ever had a dog start acting like this after he has been doing so well
any advice would be appreicated

I been going about every night. Last week was worst week I had all year. Saw sun come up 3 times and hunted late the other nights. Hunted dogs ranging from barely started to big time winners. Hunted blue dogs black dogs red dogs and walker dogs
Treed 7 coon all week. Was as sorry if a performance as I have seen. None wanted to hunt sorry tree dogs.
Just typical 90 degree July nights. Come on October

If you're 100% certain that there's not a medical explanation for your dog's slump, put it up for a couple months.
I've messed alot of them up over the years trying to power through a problem, when the best course of action would have been to put them up, take a break, re-evaluate, and start over fresh a couple months later. If nothing else, you'll appreciate the break and come back into it fresh with a better perspective. It'll be cooler, too!
I haven't hunted him very hard due to the heat other than maybe a thyroid issue he is great health it's just he rolling along
Then all of a sudden he starts acting different
It could be psychological I am not going push him and maybe he will work it out and get back to normal
