Owen Wants A Coondawg...

Yesterday morning Owen told me he needed a coondawg and would I let him have one? I asked him which one he wanted and he told me Hoss, I told him he wasn't getting Hoss! He said then how about Pride and I told him no again. Then I told him I'd let him have Ruby, he then ask me "Will she even tree a coon?" The boy has been coon hunting twice in his life and he already knows to ask if they will tree.

I don't know how to take his question.... Is he implying that I would let him have a dog that wouldn't tree? Or is he just smart enough to know they have to tree before he wants it?

Hobo it's genetic they just know . He wants to make sure your not cheating him on his first dog lol .
My 3 yr old grandson thinks he owns Maf and every little puppy I get , which is bad when one gets sold and he realizes it's not here . His favorite line in the woods is "he's got the bacon hanging , plus him up and start my minute" . He also scribles out his own entry slip at our hunts . If he could keep up I am sure he could win he knows when the dogs get struck and treed can and he finds a coon in EVERY tree lol .
