I wonder how many of those folks have flood insurance. I think most are on what you'd call high ground but they said this is a 1000 year flood. I bought flood insurance only because my wife is scaard and we live near the coast. It cost only around $250.00 per year. I called to ask if I was in a flood plain. I was told everyone is on a flood pain. The question is what kind of flood plain. I was told I live on a 500 year flood plain. I was told the cost is the same regardless which makes no sense.

I'm in the upstate of S.C. & I poured 7 1/2 " out of a 5 gal. bucket, then after the rain quit I poured 7" more out. That's probly 12 or more in a rain gauge. All our water goes to Columbia. They got it bad.

Flood

We get flooded here every year or so , our town is divided by a creek and when the river is full and heavy rains come , we get washed out , its happened several time since iv worked in this town, in 89 the dam broke in Elba Alabama and sent all their water down to us, they were paddling boats through our plant the next day !

Now that it has stopped raining I want to hit the woods but the woods are flooded. I might go to the woods today and let the dogs run the roads for a while.
