RE: Trade Days?

This will be in Doddridge County WV, and not a UKC thing yet...just trying to get a Trade Days here for the hunters to enjoy. I just need to know what all I need to look into getting for this. Any ideas?....what would YOU like to have if YOU were going to it?

Must have events like treeing contest, roll cage, field event are some ideas if not all of them. And they must be judged fairly. We drove over a hr to go to a trade day and will never go back. Each event was won by a member of the club that always went last in each event. Make it fun for all with food and peoe will show up

we have one here where i live make sure where you have it has a kitchen, restrooms, you really don't need the roll cage or treeing contest of field trails but if you do make sure you are within the laws because you don't want mr game warden coming there.

I know what you mean about being judged fairly. The hunts are getting a bad rep for this. It is sad that people can't just let their dogs show who is better, instead they must cheat in order to get ahead. Not cool!

Thanks for your advice. I like it. Sure not gonna do anything to get the game wardens fired up. We are not a coon hunting club...just coon hunters that like to see the coon dogs and hear the coon hunting stories. Throw in some trading, flea markets, good food and some live music that's good clean family fun without drugs & alcohol and that's what we can all enjoy. We are not affiliated with any of our area coon hunters clubs but would like to invite them all to share in this to make this a wonderful yearly event to share friendship and good times.

I don't know what part of WV you are in but there is a trade day in WV around the Huntington area this weekend. I seen it on Facebook.

Trade days

They have a trade day the 1st Sat. of every month at Ripley WV. Go check it out and talk to them about how they run it.

Thanks for your replies. I live between Clarksburg & Parkersburg Wv. And Huntington and Ripley are a fair drive away from me. We have a Trade Days here in Marshville about 2 times a year also. But would like to get another one going here for more opportunities for our hunters in this area. And again, thanks for your helpful replies. It is much appreciated.
