BNT Days Memorial Hunt and Show

This was started and established to hopefully draw more entries at the Assoc. BNT Sectionals thru out the year.

I was just wondering would you say it is doing what it was intended for or is it time to eliminate this program at BNT Days? Are there to many sectionals in a year or do we need a criteria for a club to have sectionals they need a X amount of dogs in the sectional and if they don't have this amount for 2 years in a row there sectional would be dropped?

the one club that did have them around me (last year) doesn't have one this year so there aren't really any close to here either but it seems more and more people around here are hunting black dogs...

Seems like alot of investment in trophies and time when a sectional gives out a big trophy to King/Queen or hunt and shows that didn't even win a cast , place in the hunt or have competition ... folks will keep it that way because the people hunting and voting at B&T days want those big trophies and to be in the magazines no matter what ... all those years I was admiring them KOH's I never had a clue they could win it and not even place in the hunt or win a cast or even need any points at all ...

My thoughts for the show are it would be nice to have a regular UKC santioned show on Friday and Saturday, kind of like the hunt takes into account winners from Friday and Saturday for the overall hunt winners, it would be nice to have a 2 day show like some of the other breed days, you bring back winners from Friday and show Saturday for overall. Now only the memorial show is offered on Friday which in non-sanctioned.

The sanctioned show on Saturday usually takes some time.
Do you think the Assoc. could get a large sanctioned show completed in time before the Assoc. meeting on Friday Afternoons?

Todd those guys and gals are doing a good job for the Assoc. Now if we couldn't get a show in on time on Fridays before the meeting. They usually have a band for a little entertainment on Friday nights usually it is wrapped up by 10pm. Maybe we could have a Show deadline at 11:30 pm and have it known as the Midnight Show. It should be all wrapped up by 1 or 2 in the morning. Then they could be back out there again by 8 in the morning. Heck they wouldn't even have to sleep between the shows.

That actually might be kinda fun, not sure how many diehards you would get though lol! I doubt you could have it wrapped up by 1 pm unless you had a deadline @ 8 or 9 AM. I know another breed assoc. holds their Friday shows with a 5 or 6 PM deadline but then you are cutting in to the people that show and hunt. But for those that are hunting there is still the Saturday show that they could participate in. I think you would have more entries in a sanctioned show on Friday than the memorial show has right now. Also having attended some of the other breed assoc. days I have to say that BNT Days has the best breed days by far. There is something for everyone there and we always have a great time!
