old timey hound/cur names

Looking into hearing of some of the older dog names from the past. The names no one uses anymore. Names from past dogs. Turn of the century style.

My dad used to name them after the man he got them from if it was a male. Most females he called Kate or Queen. He wasn't too original lol

Yea... we do that from time to time. The next pup I get will most likely come from my dad. I wanna hear names from like the turn of the century. You know? I'm curious what people 100 yrs ago called their hounds. That interests me... I see a lot of posts with females named Queen. Lol so ain't just your dad. Lol thanks for the feedback!!

my daddy aint 100 yr old but when he was growing up he had coon dogs he called fishbone,shinbone,and keener

I new a man that named a whole litter of walker foxhound pups after parts on a old junk car in his yard. Hubcap, fender, and so on.

Bill,spud,Sam,jack, Rufus, bell,sue, queen, is some old tree dogs I have hunted with.

I'm gonna name.....

An old man that got me into huntin dogs had about three begeals named Sadie. Sadie, lil Sadie, and one came out lemon color and her name was lemon Sadie. He had two dogs named duke also.
