Grass

Hey guys I have two dogs a walker and a blue tick I am feeding diamond high energy. For some reason every time I get them out of the pen they eat grass. Are they not getting a vitamin or what is the deal?? They are both healthy dogs.

All dogs eat grass once in a while, most of them puke it back up and some pass's throw them. It's a natural thing.

Dogs eating grass

Since it has been brought up I searched alittle a read in one report where theres not any real difinitive reason why they do.

Some speculation is that its some lost trait where as their ansestors where more omnivore and ate most anything to survive, and through evolution to modern dog and dog food it changed that, but that trait may still be there.

Another thought was that if a dog has an upset stomach, it may eat grass to promote it to vomit. Theory is the grass blades tickle the back of their throat same as if we would stick a finger to back of our throat and vomit.

When I was growing up nearly 60 years ago, I was told it was because they could be wormy...maybe a wives tail... maybe not....
