4 months old can i use frontline?????

i'm constantly taking her on walks through the woods and have been picking ticks off her regularly i was wondering if it was safe to use frontine or k9 advantage?? if not what would you reccomend i use

i would call a vet and see if you can give her the comforitis pill you will never have problems it goes by the weight of the dog it puts frtline and k9 advantage to shame jmo

Advantage and comfortis do not kill ticks. K9 Advantix and Frontline do, 4 month old pup can be pup on either of these products. Advantix repels the ticks more than Frontline, the ticks need to attach to skin to be killed with Frontline, but if that is your only option it is better than nothing. Your vet can answer if you have more questions.

i learn something this moroning i thought comforitis killed ticks to might also put ceader chips in the box it keeps fleas off may work on ticks to the chips is all i ever use on my hunting dogs never had a flea or tick problem with them

Comfortis has not been tested as safe for breeding animals.

There are so many products for flea, tick, both that it can get confusing. A new product out from Bayer, (same company that makes advantage and advantix) called the Seresto collar. Treats and repels fleas and ticks for 8 months! Supposed to be water resistant, may only work up to 5 months if your dog is hitting swamps, swimming, etc. I am getting two tomorrow to try on my dogs. If it works I will get for my other dogs. Dr. Foster and Smith.com has collar for $49.99 and you get a $20 rebate, so potentially8 months flea and tick prevention for $29.99. I have talked to veterinarians and they like what they see so far.

If you can remember, please keep us posted in a few months as to how this works out for you.

To all you people who think your dog does not have fleas therefore you are not treating your dogs.......... GET YOUR DOG AND LOOK CLOSELY!!!
I have several hunting friends that claim they never have fleas or ticks and they do not use anything on their dogs in the Summer, no comfortis, no frontline nothing.
It is impossible for me to believe that you can live most anywhere in the south and not treat your animal, but still not have any fleas.
A guy and I went hunting and he made that claim about no fleas about 2 weeks earlier and while his dog was in the box all we could hear was thump thump thump from the dog digging.
Does anyone agree with me?

i say anything is posable all i ever use on my hunting dogs was keep thier boxes full of ceader chips and change every month and wash my pens with creolene but you have to use something jmo

i use to use coal oil,worked bout good as anything i reckon but it do have a slight order to it.lol
