hry i got question

2 dogs tree & 2 dogs running. score 2 tree'd dogs tree.
other 2 dogs are still running. dogs are still opening on thack. say i can take 2 steps off tree & know mine wont go back to tree & i want to recast right there. & other guy wants to walk a farther distrnce to recast his dog for fear dog will go back to scored tree.
. do both dogs have to recast at same time or can 1 recast & the other dog recast 2 minutes later?

When the 8 is broke, you recast. If you don't recast, you are done.

No option to walk. This is a common misunderstanding of a rule interpretation... As soon as dogs on trail break the 8 (the same as if you we're standing 100 yards from the tree), ALL dogs MUST recast.

This is why I believe dogs should either be minused tree points or scratched after returning to the same tree X amount of times.

You will commonly hear the "we gotta walk a minute" thing. The minute is a PKC rule, it doesn't exist in UKC.

This is a situation in which a handler may be referred to as "slick" if he wants to turn as soon as the tree is scored and another dog on strike opens, however, it is not slick, it's actually following the rules.
